They do. And I might end up with one, I would just prefer an ARB. Who knows though, if a diff with a detroit and 4.88s popped up in the for sale section I probably wouldnt be able to resist.

It's ARB or Detroit TruTrac. Those are the only full size lockers they make for the 1st Gen Taco front end (TruTrac is a mechanical LSD BTW). You can do a "Lunchbox locker", but if you do not have manual hubs, you are asking for disaster driving on the road. It could, and likely will lock on you in a high speed corner.

Auto lockers do work. But read above. :)

They don't exist for the front end, so don't hold your breath.

I've been through all of this already. :(

Ah I meant LockRight, not detroit.

As I understand, a lockright with ADD isnt a big deal in 2 wheel drive on the road. But of course, I wouldnt want to drive in 4 wheel drive on the road for the reason you stated above.

Interesting. From everything I've read, they say "do not use auto lockers in a front end with auto hubs". Apparently, the auto locker can make the auto hubs think it's in 4WD and cause all of it to lock in randomly, even when you're in 2WD.

I don't have any experience with the ADD, so I couldn't say for sure. Lunchbox lockers are much cheaper though. I originally went with the Aussie locker in the front, comes with a awesome warranty and has rave reviews.

BTW, Mat, LT is awesome for more then jumping your truck. LT also gives you awesome IFS flex and is great offroad. I've seen people go LT instead of SAS for the type of terrain we have around here.

yeah but upkeep and routine maintenance cost on an LT setup isnt very cool.

It's not that bad. Not bad enough to remove it from a truck that already has it installed. I wouldn't pay for a LT setup though.

In reality, for what he could sell the LT for, he could nearly pay for an SAS.

I have heard this to but then people who do run that type of locker with ADD in the front say they have no issues. Ive wheeled with gregers05 for a while that had this type of setup and he didnt have any problems so i guess i would just have to try it.

    This.

IFS would be sweet. These guys run LT in the east with great success. I might not be able to justify the extra cost but if it was already on there i definitely wouldnt take it off.

o i agree, im just saying its something you have to factor in, unlike SAS or many coilovers its not really a one time expense, but more of a recurring one. i just think if you are gonna get a vehicle from that far out you better plan on making a road trip and turn it into a family vacation, cuz shipping or freight or whatever is gonna be killer plus there is a lot of things that can go wrong on the way. just ask the guy in the tenn thread about how long it took to get his from cali..

Well I'm not gonna get that one! I don't want to deal with the hassle of having LT.
I'm looking at a 2010 MGM DCSB SPORT that is in Virginia. For about 2k less than the one with LT

Im not trying to start anything, and maybe I dont know anything about LT, but what are the hassles besides making sure everything is tight a couple times a year and lubing the uni balls so they dont squeek? imo that doesnt seem like a very big hassle. But what do I know, im iust a dumb kid who breaks shit all the time.
