I have all pro gussets but will be going to dirt king for better low profile design. No issues with mine. The only issue is trimming old or fitting a larger dust shield because of the rotor upgrade if you haven't done so. Also 5mm of the tips on the new dust shield needs to be chopped for the large caliper

    Wait, a 14WA kit won't fit my stock '05 Tacoma TRD 4x4 17" wheels?

    IMG-2555.jpg

Edit: Never mind. Re-read Nudavinci's install thread and saw I need 1" spacers to make it work.

Mainly the Wilwood calipers are yuuuuuuge. These are meant to fit with 15" rotors as well. I had a difficult time positioning 95lbs of wheel and tire so I wouldn't bash the powdercoat off them

Makes sense. I suppose if you're going Wilwood, you might as well go aftermarket wheels anyway.

It fits a lot of wheels. I ran the T4R for a couple years and did hop on the willwood setup. if your running stock and want a good stance you will have spacers anyway. Both are great setups

Any one that bought these have trouble bleeding/soft peddle?
Edit: nevermind, it's not a problem with bleeding or air in the lines, one of the caliper brackets is not centered on the rotor and is slightly crooked. The other side is as centered as it gets and pads look to be wearing evenly.
I do have the calipers with the boots, I know they had a centering problem with these, but these are supposed to be the correct brackets for these calipers. Anyone else having these problems with these brakes?

Without doing too much work, I might suggest pulling the caliper off and comparing the brackets side by side. I did notice one side the caliper was slightly a little more difficult to separate the bracket from the caliper (don't remember but think it was passenger). I'm not sure if it was my installation but my passenger caliper side felt a little snug on the rotor, like it was pulling the rotor hat even even though I had two lug nuts holding the rotor in place. So I loosened the caliper bolts, mount bolts and rotors. Pulled them off and then checked for any corrosion on the hub maybe I missed. That wasn't really an issue so I proceeded to install everything and paid attention to the position I tightened the bolts. It seemed better the second time around.

No issues since. Try to shoot some pictures so if you need support, RR has confirmation there may be a machining error. I don't mind emailing them but not sure yours is the same issue. Try simon@rr-racing.com

How did you bleed the brakes and what master cylinder setup do you have?

I am in contact with Simon. I'll compare the 2 brackets tonight. Simon asked for me to send in the brackets for inspection, only thing is they don't have anymore in stock for a week or so.

The calipers are difficult to install/remove with the bracket and rotors bolted on.

Many different methods. Haha. But the best method I know of is vacuum bleeding with pumping the pedal. I have the vacuum booster style master setup.

Its been a little soft but may be as I have not cycled the ABS. I did noticed that one side of the bracket was closer to the rotor than the other side. It’s not crooked but not fully centered. Not sure if that would cause an issue. If they are fixing that I would like to centered. Ha

Yeah if you use tech stream you can cycle the abs pump vs you needed to drive the vehicle and make it work to bleed it. Its a nightmare.

For clarification this is the pita system to bleed. If its the one like on the 4runner thats super easy.

at least you can upgrade the master. Can't do that with the electronic master. yah at my brothers shop we used a computer to bleed it. Made things so much easier since it controls the master. Need to have him do it or get my hands on some version of techstream.

    Yes, that is like mine.
I've never had a problem bleeding these (I've replaced lots of these Masters and other components, as I work for Toyota).

Yeah the abs pump for this setup traps alot of air. Took forever till I learned about that tech stream can activate the pump so I got my own copy. My 4th gen 4runner was never a pita to bleed. Also didn't help the tacos rear brake lines were over tightened from the factory and needed fire to bust it free. Roadkill. Anyway I hope your caliper issue gets resolved.

On a taco with a vacuum booster I've never need to active the abs to bleed, but I do use my vacuum method. In the meantime I'll be putting the stock calipers back on.

Update: got the stock brakes slapped back on, they work perfect. And got the requested parts shipped off to Simon @rr racing.
Simon has been great to work with, no typical "push back" you get from some companies, I'm sure they will make it right!
