    In regards to this thread:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bumper-filler-question.403164/

Well, I got the replacement bumper filler, but the clips do not seem very secure, it doesn't come off if I pull on it a tad, but it certainly doesn't seem secure. I've tried messing with the clips and bending it every which way and have had no luck.

Anyone have any tips / tricks to this (as in directions to bend the tabs) I know its simple, but I can't seem to make it any better. I don't want to lose it on the road again. are these generally loose?

    Thanks

could put a strip of weather stripping around it to keep it from rattling.

take off your passenger side and see what it looks like. compare the 2.

and why did the driver side fall off to begin with? maybe the issue is still present and is causing the looseness.

I believe it was just me not putting it back on right.

I actually got some outside mounting tape (like double sided sorta) and wrapped it around one of the clips to make it a bit tighter / secure.

I got it to where I can pull it around / yank it around and it still not fall out. Just like the other side. So I'm assuming I'm good it's just never going to be super secure.

My guess is your clips on the inside plastic are worn down. You should be able to see them. If not, should just be able to bend those tabs on the panel a little. Otherwise you're sol if they are worn down. Mine are still a little bit loose and I gotta press them in a little from time to time. But not so loose to the point of falling off. One side is super tight though and I can barely get it off now.

Just look at it carefully when you put the panel in and see if those tabs are tight against the inner clips in plastic as you push it in. It SHOULD snap in. And SHOULD be a bitch to remove after they are snapped in properly.

Yeah it's not exactly difficulty to remove them. But it's not exactly easy either.

Seems like it'll stay now. I yank on it and try to move it around and it stays in place.

I mean, of you really wanted to, you could take the grille out and epoxy/jb weld those suckers in. Or maybe tie some skinny wire through the tabs and around the clips. If that's even possible. I can't remember how accessible those are when the grille is off. Just a fact of life with these on our trucks. Just like the side markers not being the perfect fit and those clips breaking easily on those.

Well if that's my only real issue with this truck is the clips then I'm happy :)
