the more i read, the more confused i am! my confusion stems from the way to wire it up.i hope someone can help me with this. i have a 6 circuit fuse block. i am going to use a circuit breaker with it. right now, i just have a few LED lights i want to hook up. so i run power to breaker, then to fuse block. this is where i lose it. but i also want to add a couple of relays to the setup, right now just for the lights. then i just want the lights to run on switched power. so now i need to add a tap to the main fuse box to an accessory fuse? so how does this get wired? then im going to add an LED hood light, which would need straight power. so this would get wired right from the battery? i have an inline fuse for this. now my head hurts!

please start over with what you want to do electrically, you have a couple different wiring questions all throw together.
Here is a good thread for AUX fuse boxes.

Quick question. I have a 2018 TRD SPORT 4X2 and I'm thinking of tapping into my fuse box to power some seat heaters I will be purchasing. I noticed there is a fuse in the 4x4 slot, s/htr slot, and s/roof slot. My question is, why is there a fuse in those slots even though I don't have a 4x4, heated seats, or a sun roof? Is it already pre-wired for those and I can use those slots to power my installation of heated seats?

Fuse box likely has all fuses despite not having the features, check if there is voltage at each fuse and if its constant or only when key on, yes use a add a fuse in place of the fuse there and wire away.

I've been trying to connect a radar detector into that fuse panel under the steering wheel without much success. Either doesn't work at all or what was on the fuse stops working and I get all kinds of warnings in the console. If you do get this working and could show a picture it would help me out. Thanks.

If you are using a add a fuse the fuse that originally went in the slot you are using should be in the slot closer to the fuse box, do you want it to be on at all times or only when key is one, the way to check this is with a voltmeter lead touching the contact with the other lead on ground. What fuse slot did you use? What warnings come up?

Errors say something about "Check charging system", they eventually go away. I was trying to have it powered when the key is on so I didn't have to turn it on/off manually. I am using an add a fuse connector on the tail light fuse which made the radar detector work correctly but the tail lights would not go on. If I remove everything it goes back to working.

What do you mean by "in the slot closer to the fuse box"?

Ill post a pic later, move the add a fuse to another fuse and see if that changes it.

I figured out the issue I was having. The second fuse wasn't seated correctly. I feel stupid but all is working now. Thanks for your help.
