Here's what I did on my '09--After testing a couple height options (rear only) using stacked large nuts and washers I settled in on 32 mm added height, made spacers on 1-1/4" aluminum round stock and used longer higher strength bolts. This got my butt out of the sunken pit Toyota seemed to want it in--did the wife's side too, she likes it.

    Like so:

    yep..
I saw this a while back and copied it, but with a stack of 3, 1/2" nylon bushings. Huge difference. My lower back no longer hurts.

Nylon bushings are probably, in the real world, OK¹; however their presence will significantly alter the mounting's dynamics in the event of a crash--theye would not be an option I would consider for a permanent solution...

    --------------------------
¹ - I generally consider "OK" as being barely acceptable...

Wouldn't the critical element here be the bolt, not so much what's underneath, to a certain degree? I thought i saw a company selling polyurethane risers... The bushings I'm using are the same dimension, I.D and O.D as your aluminum option. Will look into finding some aluminum rod.

The nylon is much more plastic (ductile, flexible, soft) and will allow much more motion--it will compress and rebound-- under load than will aluminum; that allowed motion will increase inertial load on the bolt when subjected to the force of a crash. Having three pieces adds to the potential for increased dynamic loads as they shift due to assembly clearances, etc.

Amazon and eBay are good sources for short lengths of aluminum round stock...

I don't like the idea of lifting seat and increasing the moment arm in the event of a crash...pretty certain insurance companies would drool over that mod if the were found liable and found the mod... just my $.02

I tried my 3" memory foam cushion I use in my kayak last night for a three mile drive...Big difference, but too much lift for me (5'9").
I ordered a slanted car cushion off Amazon today. Will report back on how that works. It measures 2.16" back and 1.70" front.

I HATE the drivers seat. I guess it's designed to try & fit tall men, it's too low, & for almost laying back down in. Head rest shoves your heard forward & down, if the seat is anywhere near upright. I HAVE neck & lower back problems already! I don't need to cup my back & neck, & fall a sleep at the wheel, long drives(eyes looking down). So I totally padded my seat out, & cover all with a Kurgo car seat cover(for dogs https://www.kurgo.com/car-seat-covers/copilot-bucket-seat-cover/) to help keep every thing in place, it fits pretty tight. Heavy memory foam bottom. A lumbar support, screwed at the right height, with those screw in upholstery tacks, with a short narrow padded piece covering all(fill in the curve). Then one of those "sleep" neck C shaped pillows on the head rest bar. Driven 1300 miles in 16 hrs, & no aches, at 65 old.

The memory phone seat cushion arrived on Saturday. So far so good with 100 mile drive that afternoon. You will sit taller, wife even noticed and gave me some grief. I gave here a sensible chuckle. Cushion comes with a strap for under the seat but it did not move around on my and I did not attach the strap. I'm 5'9" and it is an improvement. I would recommend for others in my range or shorter.
