Just as the title says anyone running Bridgestone Revo 2's LT255/75R17?

I had these tires (different size) on my 2003 and I really liked them. They lasted over 70,000 miles and were really aggressive in all types of conditions. I would love to see photos and hear your impressions.

I thought I was going to end up with the P rated Hankook ATM's but I've been told by the tire shop I trust that the side wall is "paper thin" on those so now I'm thinking about the Revos.

I like the size for its height and width and like the idea of an LT. Choices are a bit limited in the 255/75.

    Thanks!

I had a set of revo 2s on my 02' xterra and LOVED everything about the. I'm looking to replace my stock Dunlops with a set when these burn out, which by looking at them already after 3600 miles won't be too long!

Anyone running this size at least. I know its a good tire, a little expensive but good none the less. I guess the only thing I am worried about is if I finally decide to get a beach driving permit, this might be the wrong size for that...thoughts.

For some reason I thought OZ-T was running that size, either that or he was thinking about it.

    Check out these threads:

I see the OP has posted in almost every one of thost threads.

Personally, I wouldn't run a load E on a Tacoma (which I believe those Revo2's would be) but I like the tall/skinny tire combo.

I was considering 255/75/17 and 255/80/17 but ended up getting 275/70/17

FYI You can get 255/75/17 in a P metric Hankook ATm

So far I haven’t read any negative feedback on the 255's except for sand performance? I do go out to the sand dunes towing a small 6x12 enclosed trailer with a couple quads and camp gear.

My tire of choice is going to be the 255/75/17 Hankook ATm P metric.

Just been "patiently" looking for a good deal on a set of the 17" tundra split spoke wheels for a couple months now.

The skinny tires are bad for any terrain in which you want floatation. This would include some types of sand, deep snow and deep mud. That being said, the difference between a 265 and 255 isn't going to be hugely drastic. If you can drive on the sand at normal pressure with 265's, you might have to air down a bit with 255's but you won't have any problems. Keep in mind tread pattern matters also. A tall, skinny mud tire is probably the worst thing you could run on loose sand.

The Revo 2's in 255/75 are an LT but are load C.

Nice! I've only heard great things about the Revo 2's and load range C wouldn't bad at all. I'd imagine that tire in 255 would handle well in the snow.

Yeah I know its a good tire, I had them on my first Gen. The only thing I am hesitant about is the sand since there is a chance I will drive on the beach, I do live on an island, but I just have a hard time believing .5" will make that much of a difference. I guess its more like 2" over all four tires. Probably gonna just go for it since I've lived here for 10 years and never once bought the permit...

If you find you're having a problem, just air down a bit and you'll be fine. I can't imagine you'll have any issues.

Its the airing back up that's the challenge ...

Meh... I keep a $30 autozone cigarette lighter-powered pump under the rear seats with the emergency jack. Now-days, $50 actually buys you a decent pump for the occassional air down. Keep in mind you'll only be letting between 5 and 10 psi out at the most. If you could drive on the sand with your 265's and not air down, you won't need to let much out with 255's if anything.

Good suggestion on the pump. Thanks don't know why I didn't even think about that.

Well now I am also considering the Toyo Open County AT. I don't see this size listed on Toyo's web site but I can buy them, maybe they are discontinued and there is still stock floating around.

Anyway they are less money have good reviews. I think they are P rated which is ok may even be preferred.

Anyone have any thoughts to push me one way or the other?

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Toyo's are overpriced there are many tires out there that are better for cheaper.

Also have you looked at the price of the revo's I'm considering?
