@Logistics91 Do you know if the optional camera has any IP rating and/or if it is similar to the rear camera included with the truck as far as who manufactures it and the resolution it displays in? Regardless, I will be ordering the front and rear anytime mod options and side cubby, but just wanted more info on the camera if possible. Thank you for taking the time to make this mod as well as for selling it to the public. I look forward to the mount designs you release for the camera as well.

It runs very similar to the rear camera. However, it comes stock without the guidelines. But those can be easily turned on with the snip of a wire.

Also, getting a camera from me is optional, you’re welcome to use any camera you want.

As for the mount, I’m also going to look at getting the TRD Pro Grill “garnish”, mounting that with the camera flush mounted to it.

Is there a 3 position rocker switch that will work with this??? For front, off and rear camera. It would solve my mounting location issue and I can order the kit!

Any DPDT rocker switch with on-off-on capabilities will work. I just don’t offer them, because IMO they don’t match the OEM/Factory look.

So I found this thread, about same issue, and a solution...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/finally-found-a-decent-spdt-switch-for-the-dashboard.183868/

Here’s the switch, see any issues getting it work with the anytime front and rear camera kit?

thanks. if memory serves, these had something to do with the 2018 pro grills? Love to see a pic of how this works/looks with a camera. agree on the 3d printer idea :). Be a nice add-on for your kit!

Yeah, the 2018 TSS sensor mounts to the back of it.

    ah... yeah.

So you'd drill a hole in this and flush mount the camera? Does it just (more or less) press fit into the grill in that space, and/or do you know if it works in the 2017 (my guess it would).

with it flush mounted... I wonder if the angle will be downward enough?

The center piece in the grill now just pops out and this pops into it's place.

I'm not sure what the viewing angle would be like. Something I'll have to place with.

Thought I would share this with everyone because I have a grill that’s not plastic when I drilled into it and installed the camera I wasn’t happy with the look. I was having a beer and came up with this idea to hide the fact that I drilled into it, and the hole looked a little mangled. I just thought maybe it could become useful in case anyone wanted to do this with a aftermarket grille. I’ll probably end up making another one just because I have one small tool mark from where I had to hold the beer cap with a pair of vise grips while I was drilling a hole. However It turns out if you have a Dremel tool and a beer cap everything will be ok.

Good use of a spent bottle cap.
