I installed a full front camera kit from anytimebackupcamera.com a few months ago, recently it stopped working. When I hit the switch to view the front camera my display goes completely black. I plugged in another camera and tried again, nothing. Still goes black. Tried a new female RCA cable (in engine bay), new positive cable, new ground cable still nothing. Fuse is good. Can the relay behind the head unit be the issue? Anything else I should/can check before pulling the head unit out? Hope someone can help.

Same thing is happening to me right now. It’s been working for a year plus and all of a sudden the rear camera just goes black now

Can someone help me with this, so I’ve been installing this full kit for two weekends now. I got it connected with two separate switches like the illustration below. Front camera doesn’t work, rear camera is flawlessly working anytime with the switch. I even purchased another camera as I thought it’s defective but still didn’t work today. I piggy back all the connections, installed add-a-fuse link onto the fuse box, checked all wires that need to be grounded (at the back of head unit and at engine bay), I even opened up the head unit again today and can hear the relay “tick” when front camera switch is pressed on...which means it’s working. I haven’t tried pressing both switches on though to see if it will make the front camera work, since I tapped to two separate switches? Also one more issue I had is that my head unit says “microphone is not connected” now so I cannot pair my phone to the Entune Bluetooth now. Does it mean there’s something wrong with the 28-pin or the 24-pin harness? Take note switch for rear camera works but not the front. Please help. I also emailed anytimebackupcamera website for help since last week but got no response yet. It really frustrates me already after all the hours I spent. TIA.

Thanks very much, your write-up was so thorough and helpful. I did all of it in your write-up as well. I’m gonna try to open it up one last time today and troubleshoot. I might as well just do that Navi overrride too and tap the switches to the dash light for them to illuminate. Hopefully I figure out why the front camera is not turning on and why the head unit says “microphone is not connected”. Thanks a lot!

So I successfully installed it. Yes for the front camera to turn on, both front and rear camera switches have to be pressed at the same time. Rear camera will turn on just by the rear camera switch itself. Also cable tied the 28-pin and 24-pin harnesses at the back and “pressed” them a bit hard inside the plugs of the head unit. Bluetooth and Alexa are now connected as well. Thanks to this forum.

Hey members. I just recently brought this kit and waiting for it to be ship to me. I have the navigation override already included with the kit. However, the kit does not include the navigation override switch. Is there a way to get the navigation override to stay on override mode all the time so that I don't need a switch?

I believe there’s an OEM wire cut that will achieve this. Can’t recall which but a search might yield an answer.

I think you need a switch, or at least want one. On mine when I turn the nav override on the navigation stops tracking my progress.

You cloud probably use any type of switch. I think it is just a simple on/off switch. mine came with one similar to this:

Led headlight and fog lights. Messo TTS1 kit.
Just got my front camera kit in the mail and have a question. I have a 3rd gen Tacoma SR5 and was wondering where has the camera been installed on the grill. It looks like it might have to be installed on the left or right of the emblem. Any input would be appreciated.

have you, or anyone with the 2018+ noticed any issues with Adaptive cruise control mounting the camera in front of the adaptive cruise control bezel/sensor like that?

Not at all. I just run the camera wires behind the pro grill, cable tied them to make them neat. Doesn’t interfere with anything at all. Even inside the cabin passed the firewall, you just gotta fish it to the head unit harness.
