Not really much of a build as of now, but like a lot of others, I have plenty of plans. I wanted to have a thread where I can keep a running track of all my "wish list" mods as well as pictures and write ups of all the things I've done and trips I've taken. I've learned a lot from other build pages and figured maybe some day my page could help the next new Tacoma owner drain his/her wallet!

    So here goes!

Bought my first Tacoma back in March of 2015. 2013 DCSB, 4x4 TRD OR-Spruce Mica with 14,900 miles.

Here's how it was on day one.

    Mod day 03/09/16 was a huge success thanks to @snowtank @Chipskip @JohnNP @llibrm @Techoma @Brian007Taco @Milota95 @a.smo and @swalters

Pulled her into the driveway and got started on the fronts.

Next came the rears. Again everything came off pretty easy. Had an issue with one of the brake lines not wanting to come loose but that's it. I started spraying all the nuts and bolts down a few times a day a few days prior to the install and it helped a ton. I forgot to spray a couple bolts and they were much harder to break loose.

Only snapped a few pics as we were running out of time and still needed to fix the caster issue on the fronts.

A few scouting pics after I did the wheels.

Between hunting and scouting my truck sees more dirt than pavement usually.

Took care of this a little while back. Got it all done and put back together and started to second guess doing the rest of the pieces. I almost think the pieces around the vent and console will be way overkill with white?

Decided to finish painting the trim pieces today to see if I'm going to like it. Tore everything apart again but this time took some pics to maybe help a few other members out.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...h-disassembly-with-pics.405055/#post-11326983

Got the big piece on the dash and the console piece done.

Here's the results. It screams white!! Haha. Like punch me in the face when I get in white.

    20151209_155844.jpg

Good thing I have a back up plan. I have a buddy who owns a sign shop. He occasionally gets the 3M vehicle wrap in a color that's very close to the Spruce Mica. Once he gets some more I'm getting a few feet and I'm going to wrap everything I pained white. Should look awesome.

Thanks Josh! I finally have a comment on my super boring build thread. Hahaha.

I saw your post that you were in town but I was actually in Phoenix visiting family for the holiday. Maybe next time though!

Thanks for the link. The white is growing on me but I'm still not sure I like it.

ahh ok, of course. haha. once it warms up more I'll be up there regularly again visiting family.. usually shooting or varmint hunting too.

no problem. I like the idea of the spruce mica to be honest.. and thats coming from a person who is super biased. haha

Let me know when. I get out for a few predator hunts here and there. Not as many since I started working weekends though.

I love the color to be honest. I'm sure I wont like all the scratches once I get her built and hitting the trails though. I've got a full set of Icon's ordered along with a handful of other stuff. Probably going to do everything at once, over a few days. Hopefully within a month or so!

Parts are starting to stack up in the garage!

@RelentlessFab U bolt flip kit and LR UCA's are here. Extended brake lines have shipped and should be here in a couple days.

Shocks I'm guessing are still a couple weeks out.

All that's left to order is leaf springs and bumps!

Anyone want to join in on a little RTT dicsussion? Seriously contemplating pulling the trigger on one.

    CVT, TEPUI, others?

What options are a must have?

Big enough for 2? Or 3?

If you have an opinion let's hear it!

I love my CVT! their customer service is hands down the best compared to others. The differences between the companies are negligible. They are actually all the same tent, made in the same warehouse.. just with different names. We rebuilt @The Fluffer Tepui tent he bought from another member, with CVT parts.. because CVT had better customer service, could get him the parts, and they are cheaper.

The size depends on use. We get the Mt Bachelor from CVT.. its a 2+ tent.. plenty of room for us, or bags, a small propane heater and other misc goodies.

Are you going to mount the tent on a tall bedrack? if not, the Bachelor is the way to go. easier to get in and out. If it IS going on a tall bedrack (tall enough to walk under) get the Mt Shasta with the annex overhang. regardless of which one you get.. you still get the annex room. we havent used ours yet.. one being the fact that ours is on bed bars so its lower.. and 2.. just havent needed it yet. its still usable on our low mounted Bachelor.. for dry storage, if you have pets, etc. You can still walk under into it.. just not as easy as if it were on a tall rack. I was thinking of using ours for a shower or changing room in the future.

    @Moose1988

Initial thoughts are the tall bed bars from Relentless. I just have a hard time spending that much cash on them. Wish I could weld...

@djthemac has them on his rig. I like how they keep part of the tent below the cab line.
    20151009_174307-M.jpg

I like the idea of having the annex for a change room and maybe storage for bags and what not.

yeah I was going back and forth between the short and tall bars from Relentless. In the end, @Milota95 hooked it up and made me some low bed bars (right in between Relentless' two styles). I wanted the RTT to sit flush with the top of the cab. I still have enough room on the sides and mounted my axe on one side and shovel on the other. I love it. coulsnt be happier. sometimes I wish it was taller (getting into the bed to load and unload stuff took some time to get used to) but I think i like the level, even look more. I can still use my Annex if needed, just wont have as much headspace as the guys with taller bars/racks.

Sweet. Helps to have friends like that!

I would prefer flush with the bed but I wasn't sure how I would like not having much headroom underneath.
