Bed lights for under toneau? Cheap and easy solutions?

Forgive me for starting this thread - I know I've seen some posts for people that have put lights in their beds to be able to see at night, but for the life of me, can't locate a single thread, just multiple mentions.

Last night I was trying to load my sons dirt bike in the back, and the cargo light just doesn't put out enough light. I have a factory toneau cover and was wonder what cheap and easy solutions you guys have done.

I'm not good at electrical or patience (so i'm told!), so not looking to have to hardwire anything and then run all the way up in the cab. also, I don't need anything blinding, just enough to be able to see in the bed with my toneau shut at night.

i'm seriously on the edge of just getting some tap lights that 3M to the side and you tap on and off as needed... maybe that's my best option?

Please let me know if you have done anything that you've been happy with!

 

Wal*Mart sells a set of 8 lights to go in the bed for $19.99 I used half of them to go under my hood over the engine. They are waterproof and when mounted they point down into the bed. they would be very easy to mount.

I just used Velcro and cheap battery powered switch lights. Harbor freight sells some for $3/ea. Have been perfect for my needs. Used them tonight to load up some gear and they worked great. I think I was all in under $15 as I went with Amazon. You could do the same for under $10 if you have a HF nearby.

Thank you for this. Not sure why that didn't come up when i initially searched. I went ahead and ordered these since they are tried and true, not to mention i like helping folks in the TW community. Can't wait to get these installed!
