Just wondering what everyone thought their best and worst (never do it again, avoid at all costs, etc) is. The mods can be anything (engine, suspension, stickers, etc.)

Best: TSB 062-18 (the transmission one), new speakers all around

Worst: Kenwood headunit (wish I had gone with Sony)

I know mine aren’t so groundbreaking but my truck is still new.

    Best: Softopper
Worst: Air Lift suspension helpers. (I use the Roadmaster suspension now, it's slightly better.)

    Actually let me revise that.

Best and worst: Dog hammock. No matter how many hours I vacuum a week (and it's a lot of hours) the inside of that truck is never getting clean again .

Jimbeamz is cool but 4x4 is fun. I couldn’t choose. Don’t make me choose.

Worst mod is a tough one.

    Is this a fuck/marry/kill exercise?

best: OVTuning tune, SSO Slimline hybrid bumper with 20” Rigid light and Warn Zeon 10-s Winch (about to be installed)
worse: cab mount chop (would have been nice if Toyota made a frame/wheel well that cold accommodate larger tires)

    Hmmmm

Best: I’d have to go with 63 swap because my ass end rides like a Cadillac and it has a hell of a lot more travel over stock.

Worst: My OME front suspension. It doesn’t suck, but if I have to pick best/worst, here’s the worst. I’m satisfied with it for now, but I knew it was only temporary when I went with it.

Best was Pro Fox shocks, used for a fair price.
No more mushy, disconnected from the road feeling.

Worst.....haven’t found it yet. I try not to get caught up in hype and do my research.

What don't you like about the OMe?

It’s not that I don’t like OME. Like I said, it doesn’t suck.
OP wanted best and worst. Even though I’m satisfied with OME, I know there are better choices. That’s why I chose it as worst.

Best mod: rear sway bar install
Worst mod: MesoJDM White dome lights. I should have got red. The white is angled strait at my eyes and blinds me. I still love them, they are just the least favorite of my mods.

I actually appreciate the dull glow of the stock Toyota incandescents at night.

BEST: Lexus Credit Card Key. Never have to find my keys, and less in my pocket.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/lexus-credit-card-key-working-in-tacoma.445979/

Worst: (more like worst choice for me) the Pro Skid, beautiful and beefy skid, but silver skid just didn’t look right with everything else blacked out, only ran it a few days.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-pro-skid-plate-almost-new-st-pete-fl.582219/

Runner up: Could be best or worst, BHLM. Pain in the ass and way too much work, but man are those headlights pretty now.

Best: Gatortrax MX tonneau cover and all of the interior and exterior led upgrades.

Worst: not really a worst but I wish I would’ve paid the extra $ to get a one and be done suspension upgrade. I’m happy with my setup and don’t need anything better for what I do (camping and mall crawling) but would be nice to not question my setup if I ever decide to do more than novice/intermediate off roading.

Best is wheels and tires as they make the most difference to me
Worst is that I probably should have just got sliders to start with versus a $270 set of sturdy steps. May end up welding and modifying them to sliders, but probably should have just spent the money and got sliders.

    Like, so many.
    Best: Wherls and tires
Worst: Not getting my hybrid bumper powdercoated from the factory.

    So far for the price...

    Best- hid headlights
Worst- TRD intake. I can't help myself when OEM add ons are available, but it really isn't worth it.
