So maybe this has been discussed, but I can’t find what I’m lookin for.

I’m running 6112s set to the 4th notch with the 600lb springs. It gave me the lift I wanted, but not the ride I was hoping for.

I wanted to know, if anyone has done this or is currently running this... using 650lb springs set to a lower notch. So I can still get the same lift height, but also a softer ride since there is less preload on the spring. Maybe notch 1 or 2.

Bump. Curious as well as I want to lift soon going this route but I don’t want the preload of setting at the 4th notch.

It’s not horrible on the 4th notch. But I know it can be smoother. It does amazing at higher speeds (above 30). But under that and it feels like I’m destroying the front end on pot holes and bumps

    Spec of tacoma? 4cyl v6??
6112s don’t work that way. There is no spring available to help with lift to offset preload.

Either go to the 3rd notch, add weight in the front like a bumper, buy new suspension.

what is your tire size? do you have any armor or weight in the front? no issues with your rear? any weight back there? AAL or leaf pack?

I asked this same question a couple of months ago. I was told there in fact is. You can leave the 6112's on the 0 notch and use 14" coils Wheelers offers them in 600#, 650#, and 700# also I believe. This way you set the 6112's up like you would a 5100 set on 0 with the coils giving the lift. There were a couple of folks said they had there's set up this way. I have not investigated any further but if this is the case then 14" King, Fox, or Icon springs may work as well on them but IDK about that

    Found them

How much lift are you achieving with the 14” coils? I know there are many variables but say stock with 6112 on 5th notch (2.25” ish if I’m remembering correctly) vs. stock with 6112 and 14” coils set on 1st notch?

I don't have them yet it is just the front suspension I am considering upgrading to when my 5100's are worn out

I spoke to a few vendors and they didn’t have much information on it. But I don’t see why longer springs wouldn’t help achieve lift on the lower notch. As long as it maintains a list that I want and the ride quality softens up then I think it may be a good idea

The springs that come with the 6112s are 14” springs. I have the 6112s paired with eibach 14” 650lb springs. This is for the 3rd gen I’m speaking for and I’m almost 99% sure it’s the same with 2nd gens.

Big thread on the 6112s. People even measured the springs that they come with vs 650/700s. 650/700 will give an extra .5” of lift if your purely stock as it’ll hold weight better. But that’s it. If you can find a longer spring let us know.

Second this. The 6112 coils are, in fact, 14" 600lb springs.

OP, I have 6112s in the front of my 2nd gen set at the 4th notch as well. Just curious as to how rough your front end rides at low speed. Assuming that you've got your install right, maybe a good option to look into would be 650lb springs and set to a lower notch. Also, you can set the notch to the 3rd setting to see if there are noticeable differences.

Overall I love them. It’s not like unbearable at low speeds. But it is rough. To the point where I sometimes cringe on deep potholes when the same pot holes didn’t feel that bad on stock suspension. Definitely hitting the bump stops on some of them. High speed it soaks up well and feels firm but controlled and stable.

I don’t want to lower ride height because I already have a 2 inch rake in the rear and any more will look ridiculous IMO. I prefer the level look. So if 650 springs will allow me to lower a notch or two but keep the same height, it’ll be perfect

How are your 650 springs riding? And what notch are you at?

Just trying to figure out what you're questioning. My post is in relation to your issue you've brought up on your OP.

How are your 650 springs. And did you gain height over the 600 springs at the same notch?

    I went from 5/4 notch 600 to 6/5 notch 650.
I almost gained 1.5” after settle I lost maybe .25” or so. My truck is a bit heavy with sliders and SSO slimline bumper.

Just for reference from ground to fender. Was 37” to 38.4”

    Rides great to me.

-Is this on a 3rd gen tacoma?
-Are you using the bilstein 650lb spring designed for the 6112?
    -Dakar or AAL?
-How much total lift from stock on front and rear are you running with the 6/5 setting, sliders, and sso?

    Thanks!

My 8112s just arrived today :bananadance:

But yea these are 3rd gen 6112, for my 2017 and I’m using the eibach 650lb spring; 95% of the coils/springs are made from eibach so I’m sure these are them. I’m using Icon RXT leaf pack option 3. I usta have the headstrong AAL but upgraded. Total lift up front was just a lil over 2” after settling with mobtown offroad sliders with kick out and southern style slimline bumper and the rear I gained a full 3” with an empty bed. 350lbs of gear I can drop an 1” or so.
