Black between side windows?

Hey y'all I was just wondering about something. I notice in several pictures I see, the area between the side windows is blacked out:


(NOTE: Sorry if I ripped off a picture of your truck from the topper thread)

I figured this was standard, but is this a mod that people are doing? I don't really care anyway, but my dealer just sent me pics of my truck that just arrived and I noticed that mine didn't have it:


Like I said, I'm not too worried about.. I like the truck as is without it. Just curious if this is an aftermarket mod or only on certain models or what. Anybody know the scoop on this?

 

I think it comes on all the 2016s. But I could be wrong.
And I think you do have it on yours, if that second picture is yours. I can see something there. It's faint, but it is there.
I believe it is just vinyl wrap.

 

if your truck is the bottom pic then you do have it. lol and yes this comes from the factory. you can get it off with heat

 

Look closer, your truck has the black in-between the windows. You can see the lines. Every doublecab besides black has them. Yes, many folks have taken it off including myself, but rest assured, yours has it.

 

Thanks fellas, you're right.. I think it's just the lighting. It looks kinda cool when the front windows are tinted too..

mine weren't lined up so I just ripped them off, can't say I cared for them as they looked a bit cheap to me

 

I have a black double cab, I guess I'll never know the feeling.

 

Hmmm... now you've got me wondering on how a MGM would look without them.

My Access Cab did not come with them, but I like the look. It makes the windows flow together.

Protects from scratches from rings nails etc when opening/closing as well.
