I have the same problem and I'm 5'8". The mirror seems to be the biggest issue, but both the A pillar and the mirror work in concert to create that blind spot. I might try the seat spacers but I don't think that will resolve the issue completely....

I'm 6'3", so I don't have the problem really, as I look over the mirror. I will say this though, and it's not unique to Toyota...a great many modern vehicles have really large A-pillars to accommodate all the crap in these newer vehicles...side air-curtains, extra wiring for the toys, etc.
    Cheers, Jeff

Also I think it has to do with roof strength for roll over integrity.

Well, my niece rolled her 2nd Gen a few months back...the A-pillars collapsed completely, the C-pillars held up though. That said, the multiple air-bags helped big time. She walked out without a scratch...she was lucky too I think.

I drive a bunch of windy mountain roads and I get that A pillar blind spot.

Yah, the pillar gets in the way, I always noticed that too. Pretty bad blind spot.

Lol, I'm 6', with a pillow, my blind spot would be the roof! One thing I love about 2nd gen is the low cab, brother in law has a king ranch, his towers over mine when you look at roof height, but I have double the ground clearance :)

Lol! The biggest blind spot is Toyota Prius and the little Chevy cars, snap or sonic or whatever they call them, I literally can't see them when on the side of me. To those people either lift your car, put an orange flag on it like you have to at ATV tracks or just go home! We have spent way too much time lifting and building our trucks to deal with people who care so little about driving and safety that you spent less than the cost of our tires to buy your car! Lol!

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
Sit further backs and wear some of those platform shoes from the 80s to reach the pedals. Or wooden blocks work too

My left side blind spot is massive. I am blind in my left eye like 1/2 Stevie Wonder. I use blind spot mirrors on both mirrors and have my driver side tuned so if a car is parallel on the highway I can see it without turning my head. I’ve yet to have an actual blind spot issue, I like the shape of the cab / windows of my Tacoma. To me it’s mirror placement followed by seat adjustment.

I hope you take all the suggestions on here and find an empty parking lot and practice! :fingerscrossed:

oh i get it. but i'm not talking about memorizing the horizon before you.

we are all supposed to look forward into the corners anyways..whether your mtn biking or driving a track car. you dont look close all the time. eyes are sticking and moving.

i'm 6' tall and my drivers side mirror blocks a lot of vision real estate. say i am passing a tight corner with a parking lot light-post..i know about that light pole way before i am passing it. just me. YMMV.

and i have just about PERFECTED my stop at the red lights where i can pretty much block the panhandler standing on the corner (ready with his hunger-sad eyes) with my B-pillar.."screech, what begger? i dont see a begger"
