this didn't fix the bt issues i've been having. mine already was set to "connect from phone". mine will be fine for a few days, but if i make a bunch of stops in a row in a short period of time (think stopping at a few different stores), it eventually stops showing any kind of audio info on the screen and i lose the ability to control the music from the stereo or steering wheel buttons. the music still plays, but it doesn't show track or artist info. the only fix i've found is to reboot the phone. i've tried cycling bluetooth on my phone and just reconnecting it (in either direction).

my phone is a pixel xl and i have the entune unit that doesn't have nav.

I was having the same issues described by the OP after my Moto Z Play updated to 7. I tried toggling BT off & on and manually re-connecting, but ultimately I had to do this twice to get things working semi-reliably again. Since then, it's failed to reconnect automatically a couple of times; on both occasions, I wasn't able to toggle BT on the phone (it showed as being on in the control panel, but no status bar indicator). Restarting the phone fixed the issue both times. In general, I've found that a weekly reboot of my phone keeps a lot of these types of gremlins at bay.

I have had a few issues with my Ipod connecting. But never with my android phone. Sometimes when im using my ipod on bt, my books and music miss words every 20sec. No problems when using my android phone as a media player.

I never had an issue until I let my wife connect her iPhone to the truck, now it's hit or miss for me. Lesson learned, don't get married lol.

Is your phone plugged into the USB port when this is happening? It could be getting confused between seeing the phone as a "car accessory" (blue tooth) and "Dock Connector".

    These are TWO different inputs.

i don't use the usb port that is under the heat and ac controls. i have a cig lighter adapter that i plug in inside the arm rest console. in other words, the usb that i'm using provides 0 possibilities for connectivity to the stereo.

I have a Nexus 5x also and had trouble with it auto connecting. I ended up turning off the messaging through Bluetooth (it sucks anyway imo) and now it auto connects 95% of the time without issue. I've never been able to browse google play music through the head unit so I don't know about that

I had a 2016 Tacoma and never had a BT issue, now I have a 2017 TRD Sport and have an issue with the on screen readable text. I have set it up twice now, and it will work fine and then it will only allow me to IGNOR it and not read it. Any suggestion? I have an iPhone 7

I think - not certain - that turning off Message access on my phone may have resolved BT connection issues I was having.

I always have this issue with my iPhone but not my Galaxy. It is really frustrating and causes the radio to lock up until I shut the truck off and turn it back on. If it just won't connect then I shut the BT off on the phone and connects right up.

If you are trying to play music stored on your phone, you could just copy the music files onto a USB drive and have Entune access those files through the USB port. I just leave the jump drive in all the time. I think the USB plays the music louder than through the BT connection. Just some thoughts.

Who downloads songs nowadays? Streaming is king and the interface in my phone for finding specific songs/albums/artists is far superior to anything entune can offer. I can say "ok Google, play <album name here>" and it plays it. I just want to see the track info and be able to skip the songs I don't want to hear.

Meh, call me old school but I like having my music stored. My iPhone is full of music, mainly from cds (remember those?) that I've bought throughout the years, about 40 GB worth. I just hit shuffle and go, no buffering! Seriously, I still can't adapt to streaming, some of the rural areas out here don't have very good data connection either.

I had the choppy Bluetooth connectivity issue for a short while. I solved it by deleting my phone from head unit settings and also deleting the entune on the phones Bluetooth connections. After that I re-paired. It's been working fine for a month now.

With Google music, it doesn't all stream. It caches things you listen to and things it thinks you may listen to. You can also specifically download albums in case you know you won't have signal, like if you are going on a flight.

Also at any point, you can tell Google music to only show you what is actually on your phone, so if your on the aforementioned flight and decide you want something that you didn't specifically download, you can see what's there.
