I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
So came back home, turn on 4wd, light flashed couple times, than weird noise and no more light.
Now turning 4wd, or 2wd and no action.
luckily I have another truck so I spend almost an hour trying to drag Tacoma up the hill.

Since frame swap was done I have nothing but F... problems...
Thanks Toyota for turning perfectly good truck into shitbox.

EDIT Looks like Toyota busted my diff so need to start colelcting list of part numbers

So........ are you asking a question, or is this like those times like when my wife complains about something but doesn't really want a solution to it? Then gets mad when I suggest a solution? Y'know?

    ... I'm scared.

That was an entertaining read, reminds me of an episode of South Park where Butters is being treated for multiple personality disorder but the therapist is the one that has it.

So Blue, you headed off to the Chevy dealership once Toyota fixes your 4wd problem?

No F way, I would rather buy GM....

Toyota is not going to fix this if they knew how to fix this, they would not cause the problem in the first place. Chevy maybe in my future because I dont think this problem is fixable with out disassembling good portion of truck to find where exactly this is failing.

I wish it was that easy.
When they swapped my frame they must have pinched one of the wires. So now system works intermittently and when it stops you need to pull 4wd fuse to reset computer.
Good luck to anybody of finding pinched wire.

If system stop workign would be easy but with intermittent issue, this is not going to be possible to solve, and with out dependable 4wd this truck is useless to me.

I know this is a wiring problem, because the same thing happened before (right after they gave me truck back). I checked everything, even got the amperage reading from the 4wd computer while system was engaging and disengaging. There is nothing wrong with system itself (add or Transfer case), its one of the wires somewhere.
They did not open any of that, but they had to disconnect and unplug all the harness connections. remove the wiring to add and transfer case from the frame. So yeah finding where wire is pinched its going to be impossible.

Yeah I have to agree you are jumping awfully far to conclusions. Even if it is a pinched wire, believe it or not they do actually know where that wire runs. It's not like they built it and forgot to write down where stuff is.

I am not saying they don't know where the wire is, just saying to find out where they pinched wire is going to be a massive task.
ADD wire is part of main harness, so it would be cheaper to buy new truck than swap that again.
Not that I expected any less problems after something like frame swap.

Have you even contacted the Dealer, or the local zone office about this issue?

This is the one thing I am really afraid of when getting my frame swapped, an issue popping up that they will either say wasn't caused by the replacement or something they cant' figure out. My dealer has been fantastic so far, but the only thing they have done is keep upgrading my rental when I go in to resign the agreement. The treal test will be when the work actually starts. Did your dealer try to charge you anything extra for the swap for BS things?

How come you would rather bitch about your truck, instead of taking the thing to the dealer that did the work?
