Building the "BEAST"

Actually I'm in contact with TCBOB about getting it back up shortly. When it comes back up Tacoma World is going to benefit from it greatly as we will put full blown tech articles from RockSolidToys onto Tacoma World. Gotta show the love.

 

OK, so I've always wanted to know how my truck is doing while wheeling, cruising around town and while on the highway so I picked up one of these Scangauge II from DeMello-Offroad but I didn't know whee to put it. I wanted it within easy view but I couldnt figure out a place. Then I talked with Kevin from Armourtech and he told me about this mount that goes above the rearview mirror. Perfect! I ran the wire loom up the a pillar, plugged it into the OBD spot under the dash and then plugged it into the scan gauge and BAM!!! perfect.

 

Very nice! Out of pure curiosity could you let us know what mpgs you are getting?

 

Sure. On the freeway I'm getting between 14 and 15mpg depending on whether I put my foot in it or not.

Around town it's about 9.5 to 10mpg. Gotta get those big meats moving

 

How did you get the 'AVG' to display as a gauge? Messed with the xgauge function somehow im assuming?....

 

Not too shabby all things considered. Did you get the numbers from your new scangauge?

It was easy. I just went to gauge and the button next to my avg I just pushed it until it showed up as avg. The one below it will do it as well.

 

this is the best read of all time about one truck's transformation that i have just sat down and read through the entire thread, watched all the vids. I want to be the 1st in line to buy this if you ever decide to sell. I am so amped right now to start building my SAS! Someday maybe, but keep posting pics and vids! I never really understood the full capability of the SAS until now, but dam your truck is a freaking awesome piece of a monster.

Weird. You must have a newer SG than me, mine doesnt have that option. I'll look it up and see if its an Xgauge I can program then.
