Having people blow up a thread on a forum is great for business & exposure and if he finds us to be a nuisance, it's fairly simple for him to not log in or read this.
It also helps reassure the dude that
All his tireless efforts "that we will never fully appreciate"
    Are well worth his time.

Now if we were all using profanity or going and harassing him personally, that's one thing.
But I say don't let this thread sit idle. Hopefully the pressure will get enough of us onboard to make his first production run profitable & allow him some more financial security. :)

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
Due to holidays and weather in the area, nothing new. Brad is still working out some kinks on the drawing board, and we'll hook back up soon.

That it is. its one thing to update and improve a design of a company that goes out of business, and acknowledge that the design is based off of their's, but its something totally different to blatantly copy a current company's design, make no changes to it and then claim it as your own.

I wish there was one of these I could make work with my Avid bar (Even if I had to cut on the avid a bit) It would be epic...

your best bet in all honesty would be to have a local fab shop build out a light bar onto the mount, it would be better, however, i do believe that the tray will have the option of light tabs on the actual tray itself, which would do the same thing as the avid bar.

well, in that case its a question of how the winch mounts to the frame, as you know that unless the mounting brackets for the tray are similar to the OEM crush bar mounts the n the supplied Avid brackets wont work, and depending on how the tray mounts you'll either need need new brackets or may have to seek an alternate mounting location. however without having pictures of the mounting locations i cant really tell, and there's still the issue of clearing the skidplate that the tray has, as it is slightly different than the OEM bumper lines

The avid mounts to the outside bumper bolts on either side of the frame. It's angle iron that drops down, then wraps up front.

The problem is going to be interference with the crossbar, it's gonna have to be hacked upon to work :(

I'll cross that bridge when I get there eventually.

Hmmm... I haven't been receiving email notifications from this thread for some reason.

Between Turkey Day and the arse whoopin we've been taking from mother nature for the past week we are running a bit behind.

My guys are trying like crazy to get our final design prototype out this week for the 05-11 then get it test fitted after that. I hope to have pricing nailed down this week as well. It's tough to get things like this accomplished this time of year for sure.

In addition to this we have rolled out the new line of Sirius LED Lights AND I'm currently working on our very own line of recovery gear as well. I need clones of me...

Keep your questions coming, it's no bother in any way.

As far as winches, I haven't had any 'sales' as they are on pretty thin margins and ship FREE anywhere in the lower 48 via UPS Ground. On top of that they have been selling like crazy and Viper was actually out of several models until yesterday so now we are busy filling backorders.

Having said that you can bet I'll be offering some specials on all kinds of stuff before Christmas along with the Tacoma mounts so keep your Santa money in your pocket!

Not a stupid Q at all. I'd suggest the Viper Max as it has the remote solenoid/control box. The 13K is the way to go as it's only $30 more than the 9500. You can also option it out with synthetic line in 3/8" x 85' or 5/16" x 100' for $200-220 more.. in your choice of colors no less.

Steel cable versions come with roller fairleads, synthetic will automatically come with a hawse.

One of the really cool features of the Viper winch is the wireless controller. While it still comes with a 11' control cable the wireless feature is very nice to have.

    Standard features:
    • Wireless Remote Switch
    • 11' Cabled Remote Switch
    • Steel Cable is 94'by 3/8" diameter (16,500 steel cable is 87' x 1/2")
    • Roller Fairlead
    • Large Clevis Hook
    • Non-Integrated Contactor
    • 6ft of 2 gauge wiring
    • Handsaver Strap
    • Installation Hardware
    • Mount Pattern: 10" x 4.5"
    • 1 Year Warranty

And as always, FREE shipping via UPS Ground to the lower 48.

I probably should add that everything you need to install a winch in our mount on an FJ or a Tacoma will come with the winch. You may need a couple of simple L shaped brackets if you want to mount it a certain way. You can read about winch fitment on the FJ which is going to be very similar to the Tacoma, here. Read over the FAQ on the FJ Winch Mount page for more discussion about this, again, should be pretty much the same for the Tacoma.

That would be awesome to mount the control box like that, it would make getting to the plug a piece of cake!!!
