Cali Raised catalytic converter shield w/6MT?

    I know Cali Raised's own disclaimer says:
    "Must be automatic transmission only."
    and
    "Note: This product will not work with a manual transmission model."

    What I want to know is the reason.

    It _looks_ like the cat shields would fit on both sides on my 2023 TRD Sport 6MT AC. I suspect it would only offer limited protection on the right side due to a large gap between the inboard edge of the shield and the transmission, unlike what you would see with the automatic.

    I would have asked CR first, but I wanted to get an answer instead of a lawyered "not supported" statement.

    I went with Millercat for this reason & no lead time for delivery. Downside is Miller is more expensive & needs to be removed to service the transmission. Pain in the butt to R&R but not as difficult as initial install. Best to have a second pair of hands to help with alignment, if you have that option.

    I worry about the shields and the heat they may retain anyone else have issues with that?

    Funnily enough, I just actually reached out to them and asked this question today. I really like their design and how the MT is still serviceable without removing the shield. That is the reason they gave me. They said the passenger side would still be somewhat exposed. I do hope they change their mind or if they are working on it that they launch a product soon. I don't particularly want to be driving in the US without a shield lol.

    I suspect if they did make a 6MT version, it would only be the passenger side that differs. The driver's side would be the same part.

    Regardless, as mentioned, it appears both sides already will at least fit.

    Also, I should have led with the fact that I received Cali Raised cat shields as a gift. So the issue for me is not what to buy but rather if there was anything preventing them from being installed.

    I don’t recall the deets but someone on FB confirmed they work on the manual transmission. I think what he said is that the area was still pretty “open” up there and might make it somewhat easy to steal on a manual compared to an auto. I don’t really know. I would say their shields are the most attractive option, I have owned both Millercat and Talon’s garage and I really don’t like either of them.

    Yes, they will fit. You'll just have some area exposed on the passenger's side. I do hope they come out with a manual specific passenger side soon-ish though

    Another bent-to-fit piece of steel would do it. Had CaliRaised pre-drilled the existing piece, an additional piece of steel, bolts, washers, and nuts could be been offered as part of a more-expensive 6TM-only kit.

    Seems if you have a full skid plate system, the opening the MT leaves wouldn't really be an issue. That gap would be covered by the transmission plate.
    ... no?
    I have their full skids, so...

    But I'm still really torn between waiting to see if they release a 2nd Gen MT version and just buying what they have and modifying as I must. Not ideal, but ... .

    In the meantime, I ended up buying the RCI add-on wings, drilling some holes in the trans plate and mounting them up. Not bad, but could be better.
