I want to wire up a light bar that I can turn on manually or have it come on with the high beams. But also be able to turn it off. Do these fit? I have a 2009 Tacoma

 

Years ago I added an on/off/on marine switch for my aux reverse lights, the lights can be on/off/on only when in reverse.

I had to Dremel some of the plastic to get the switch to fit here.

Costs a bit more but why not go with switches designed to fit like the ones ch4x4 sells.

Will fit with some dremeling , but sticks out like a sore thumb on dash.

 

I don't think they had DPDT's when I did mine. (In fact, this company may not have been around or widely known back then?) I see this one but it's not listed as Toyota size so I'm not sure how it would fit.

Agreed, thankfully it's mostly hidden by the steering wheel for me!

 

I don't want to any dremiling. I would use something like this and drill a hole in the blank cover before i do something to the dash.

I want one that is on off on, so I can have a light bar either on, off, or on when the high beams are on.

Oh, I only had to Dremel the lip inside the hole so the body of the button fit, the face and visible area of the dash were not breached at all.

The marine button I used is built well and reliable, and to me looks better than a pin-shaped toggle.

If you want to use the empty slots in the dash under the radio, this switch fits perfectly. I'll get a pic on my lunch break.

Those do look like a nice fit! Note the second part of the OP's goal (and what I needed) is an ON/OFF/ON switch.

 

To answer your question, yes. You'll still need a relay for the light bar and a seperate circuit to sense when your high beams are on.

I don't know if those specifically will fit, but they sell the size that fits at most auto parts stores. It's a common size.
