    Some are. Most aren’t.

    Such as:
    Everything with the AC settings
Changing the amount of times the blinker blinks for lane changing
    Disabling seatbelt dings
    Disabling Headlight warning dings

Thanks - it’s interesting they are available, but not to the user. Wonder why?

Your dealer charges to make the changes, so they’re not gonna make them all available!

Section 9-2 of the owners manual has a list of ones you can change and what the dealer can change.

Thanks. I am still happy to do it for local folks.

The changes are set in the truck, so they do not revert back if you cancel with Carista. The changes might go back to default depending on what you dealer does during a service.

I think you should be okay after a battery disconnect, bit I have not tried that yet.

That is one thing that I wish I could change also. You can only kill the seat belt chimes in Carsita and change the speed of the door open chime.

We always wear seatbelts, but when backing out or pulling into our tight garage, it is easier to do that with them off. The most dangerous part of any drive is getting through the intersection at the end of our cul de sac. Neighbors just don't care and I have had some close calls.

Yes! I have never had a car with one touch turns. I really like the function but three was too few. Carista let's you adjust that. Four is working great but I might try five?

I have an ELM327 BT adapter that I bought more than 5yrs ago from newegg.com for about $14. It still works with the latest Android OSs and works perfectly with Carista.

So my obd adapter fails a bunch of tests using the elm identifier from the Google play store. This makes sense why calista fails.

I'm thinking of runnin' it all the way to seven..... 3 gets me feeling good that the guy behind me notices my intention to turn, then makin' my move might take three more if I'm not whippin' at 75 on the interstate and then what ever is left will settle me into my new lane...

    But three ?
Nahhhh, No-one is paying close enough attention to react and make adjustments to their speed or their own intentions in that short time.

Can carista remove the chime that goes off when you get out to grab something with your keys in your pocket and the truck still running?

I'm at the north end of Locust, so we're pretty close. Toss me a PM. I'm usually free most afternoons and Saturdays.

That is not what I want to hear. I'm about a month out from my first service. I'll post up what I find afterward.

I really don't want to pay for weekly access once this one-year-subscription-mistake expires. I guess I will only have to worry about that until the Toyota Care expires and I do the rest of the maint myself?

Yea they turned my seat belt dingers off and changed the blinks from 3-5. They will do it if you ask.

I have certainly had dealers work with me on programming in the past. I had an unexpectedly great purchase experience with the Taco but just haven't been in there for any real work, just a free car wash a few weeks back.

I have made several obvious mods (nothing that would void a warranty other than maybe the HAI override cable) and am wondering if I should note the customizations that I made with Carista or not? I'm not expecting any ECU updates and AFAIK there are none for the MT 3.5l.

Also, I am wondering about the switch mod? When I insert my key, I hear something priming / cycling. One of the fuel pumps maybe? I'm not sure if I want to go through the effort of actually removing that switch and then having to reinstall it.

I can't remember if it can be disabled with TechStream. I have been meaning to get the cable.

The little quick “pump” sound? That goes away?

    Yeah.

I would imagine that is goes away since the ignition mod removes parts of that switch. The noise is pretty quiet, so I am not sure if folks who did the mod would even notice it? I doubt that I would hear it if I wasn't in the garage with the window down.

    Ha!

I really liked our old saab. No steering lock or clutch switch. Also when installing an adjustable short shifter, I removed the reverse lock out parts to get an even shorter throw. The simplicity was nice.
