I love the look of the 3rd gen taco still, and if it had the same drivetrain as my 4Runner I would have kept my limited.
But I have zero complaints about my 4Runner.
Eventually I'll pick up a 2nd gen taco to fill my truck wants.
Can never have too many Toyota's in the garage

You won't be disappointed. Love my Trail Premium. Loved my Tacoma too, but no regrets selling it.

I want to get a Trail Premium but my wife wants a 3rd row. Trying to figure out all the main differences between the standard 2nd row seats vs the 2nd row seats designed for 3rd row. I also want the locking rear diff, which the trail comes with. I've got time til I buy though. Deploying and then moving to South Korea for a year. So probably try to get the TRD Off Road if the 2018 redesign is shitty.

Anybody wanna buy my 2015 TRD Off Road Taco? !! Haha

Plenty of people on here want a '15 off road. Post it up in the 'for sale' thread if you're serious. :)

Does anyone know when Toyota Plans on releasing the 2017 4runner TRD pro? I heard the end of 2016 and mid January, I'm wondering if I missed something in between.

Quicksand is really ugly on the Taco but sexy on the 4Runner. Love it!!!!!

    You made a solid choice

I think it's all the chrome that makes the quicksand look bad on the tacos, I love my color and my 4Runner

The 4runner is still 100% Japan made in the same plant as the Land Cruiser. They actually share the same platform, and it shows. The 4Runner is better in every way over the Tacoma. I loved my 2014 Tacoma, but it did not compare quality wise to my 4Runner.

I agree. Coming from an 08 tacoma which was awesome. The only problem I had with it was the weak rear leaf springs. However, my 16 trail premium has taken over as best vehicle I have ever owned.

I just bought a 2016 Trail Premium having had a 2016 Pro was totaled earllier in the year I found a really nice left over at a good price .

The 4runner with the 4.0 with 5 speed is one of the best power trains toyota ever had is still sold all over the world in this suv .

You don't see the 3.5 in the Helux do you ...

I totally agree 3.5 highlander powered Tacomas with automatics are overpriced terds . My buddy just bought one , I tried to talk him into a manual would be one less problem to deal with .

I'm glad I grabbed my 4runner when I did before toyota Newters the 4runner in the USA .

I'm glad I wondered over to this thread from the 3rd gen Taco forum.

I've REALLY been wanting a Taco, I want an offroad capable and rugged truck or SUV. Was thinking about a JK, but I just can't get past the doubts on the reliability, plus if I'm honest with myself I know that I won't 100% like it as a daily driver.

Was pretty much set on the Taco as I really like the look, though I have my doubts about the 3.5. Even on the 3rd gen board I've been seeing a lot of negativity about it.

The 4R wasn't really on my radar, I hadn't looking into it much, I thought it was outdated and kind of ugly. Well, after talking to a friend of mine who's been dead set on getting herself a 4R for months, and doing some reading and youtubing, I see the 4R should DEF be in the running. Turns out a lot of what I thought was "outdated" is actually good. The 4.0/5A being a big one.

I still think it's got a face other than a mother could love, but I can get over that, haha.
