I just performed this mod on my '11 and it mostly worked. The problem is that the outer (small) bulb is not working on the side that I did the mod on. Other side was working, but when I switched that bulb over to test it seems to have blown that bulb as well. No shorts or grounds that I can tell and fuse is not blown. Anyone have an idea on what could have caused this?

hid head lights, hid fog lights, always on fog lights, bed lights
using the dim filament will not give you a bright enough light to be visible during the day against direct sunlight (which is the whole point of DRL). A better option for DRL is the fog light anytime mod and use the foglights as DRL.

Thank you for the pics! I just bought 2015 Tacoma and it came with a basic two speed wiper switch!!?? After arguing with my dealership, I finally convinced them to order me a intermittent switch. I think I'm going to do the install myself since they charge big bucks to do the work…

Thanks again for the very instructional post.

They probably were telling him that there is no such thing for a Tacoma that didn't come factory with it. That is what the dealerships seem to believe.

Wow, my 2012 Tacoma has the switch that when pushed up it does a quick wipe, first position down, is intermittent with several times, and then normal low and high. Can't imagine they would cheap out and do away with that, even the 2005 I had has that same switch! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

It's those little things that could potentially persuade someone into buying a more expensive model.

Hi guys, im new to TacoWorld and not even sure of how to use it properly yet since I dont spend much time on here but I like getting good advice or help so I thought I'd lile to pass it along. After getting my 285/75/17 (33") tires on my Tacoma with a 2.25" lift I figured id like to fix the little rubbing that I had. I have aftermarket wheels so backspacing isnt as bad as stock. It rubbed verry little while standing still but when driving since the factory suspension is all on rubber mounts or bushings it rubbed a little more. I dont like having a 6" lift like some guys with some little tires but thats just me.
most important for me when starting is not to do like most by cutting a little at a time! Cut a little to fit 33", than in a year cut a little more for 35"s so i got all the info off different trends and this is what i figured on doing. Most guys cut as much as possible while leaving one of the two bolts that mount the rubber mount to the frame mount, so for me it only made sence to unbolt the rubber mount that looks like a trianglit on and the corner that faces toward the front which gets in the way when you try to cut as much as possible gets in the way. So i unbolted it, rotated it completely oposite of how it was and i drilled new holes in the bottom. After that i cut from the (Back outer)corner of the mount in a strait line maybe a 1/8 inch into the big hole on the bottom to just leave enough room to still service or work in there and not to let the rubber mount and washer rubb the edge and cut a strait line all the way around a piece at a time with a grinder and cut off wheel. Then I traced out on paper the shape of the hole put it on metal and cut it out. I then welded it up and now I have room to spare up to 35"s for sure.

The last picture I have the wheel turned only 1/2 way were most of the rubbing was before I cut it and I have about 3" of clearance now. At full lock I have about an inch and a half and I could cut and plate the front of the mount if id want room for bigger that 35"s which would never happen for me :) plus you need to start making room in the edge of the firewall if going with 35"s anyway which will be another interesting project

Hey as for the 4x4 switch do you know if there is another place to find it other than trdparts4u. I looked at their website but could not find it.

Hi I have a 2007 regular cab 4 cylinder 4wd with a manual transmission and I was wondering if an 8 cylinder swap would even be possible if so how would I go about starting such a project and if not what could I do to get a good deal of power out of the truck

    Of course it can.

But it won't be a 'cheap/free mod' thread topic, which is where you posted.

Anything is possible. I can't see it being cheap though.
