What TSB has been issued other than the two for the transmission shifting issues?

This has been one of my problems with Toyota on this truck is the lackadaisical "official" response to resolve issues.

Control arm noise has had a TSB for a long time (put plugs in it)
The Driveline vibration has a TSB (I read it in PDF form but I can't be assed to find a link right now, it involves measuring pinion angles and replacing the leaf packs if out of spec, and installing a steering damper)
I suspect the 3rd brake light leak will have a TSB soon if not already, but no one has linked a PDF so I can't say for sure

Really I think a lot of the fault here lies a lot at the dealership level. For some reason some of them have a permanent rod up their ass and refuse any semblance of transparency to their customers.

It could be some shitty policy forced on them by Toyota corporate, but what I'm hearing on here is wildly different responses to issues. Some dealers are 100% on top of their customer's complaints and cover problems no questions asked, others throw a temper tantrum and have to be dragged kicking and screaming to a simple warranty repair. Still others happily replace parts related to symptoms over and over, without stopping to think what the root cause is.

Also, you never answered my question. Does your truck have leaking plate lights?

Yes they leak and they've been replaced once already it doesn't rain enough here for me to waste my time going back to dealer and dropping truck off for a day

    1 for tranny +1 revised
    1 for LCA resonance

Except that the more instances that are reported to Toyota, the more they are likely to see it and fix it. Fixing issues on your own doesn't give them the data they need to recognize problems.

If it's under warranty, it gets taken in. I have a motorcycle I can ride if I'm out of a truck for a day or my wife's car if she doesn't need it. I hold Toyota responsible for their product. I haven't had some of the issues everyone else had but the ones I did have were annoying and consisted of almost a weeks worth of my truck being gone. I hadn't bothered to check my plate lights in the past, now I will check after work, thanks for the heads up on this. Guess I missed this thread awhile ago. Please, if you can make the time to inconvenience yourself to take it to the dealer, do so. It helps the rest of us that also take our vehicles to the dealer. If this site didn't exist I would have had a hell of a time showing them my front rad bolts were rusted and the seal was shot.

So the battle wasn't as arduous as I expected, but I suspect this may only be the 1st engagement. Took the car to the dealer, spoke to the service advisor who I usually talk to, he got the attention of a lead tech and I took him out to the parking lot to look at my truck. After hearing this was the 3rd housing in the first year, about to be the 4th, he agreed that simply replacing the housing wasn't cutting it. I said "It looks like we're addressing a symptom here, not a cause" to which he agreed. He also looked and agreed that the harness is the only other sensible method of water entry. I mentioned that the harness to the area is not a big, integral part of the wiring overall. He said he would talk to Toyota and see what they say. He said they may replace it, or they may use a sealant. I'll get a call "tomorrow" (which may mean I need to follow up and poke them) to hear what corporate says. I'll keep pushing on this, not just for me but for the sake of everyone else who might have the issue.

Exactly. Toyota can't fix what they don't hear about.

Oh! I forgot, they TSB'ed the manual transmission detent causing tough shifting sometimes. Anyways, these are just the ones I know of personally. What we really need is someone to make another thread like this for the third gen. Like someone at a dealer who can hit an actual database and pull up ALL 2016+ bulletins.

I've had one of mine replaced by the dealer. They tried to blame it on the LED bulb I had in there. That argument didn't last long.

If it leaks again, I'll put a regular bulb back in before they see it. No leaking with #2 so far.

I have the same issue with my driver side. Noticed while cleaning my truck one day that one side appeared to be smoked and the other side was clear. Noticed at night one of them was not turning on sometimes - dealer replaced it and driver side is back to being smoked again (water filled).

Bring it back and tell them about the harness. The more people do this, the more likely Toyota is to put out a fix for all of us!

These housings have been used on the Tundra since 2012, if my memory serves me right. It's not a faulty housing seal, it seems that the harness to the lights is allowing moisture into them.

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
Went outside to check mine last night. Hit the lights as it was dark and i couldn't see. Both are bone dry. Great right?... WRONG. The right one is strobing like a f*cking cop car. Took me at least four attempts and half the flesh off my right hand to swap the factory bulb out to an LED in the first place.... Now i can go through the joy iof that task AGAIN! FML!!!!

That sounds like a problem with the contacts on the LED, not moisture. I feel your pain though, my hand was scraped to shit after wrestling with mine.

    Update:

Just scheduled to bring it in tomorrow. They want me to drop it off so a specific person can be there to look at it.

I pressed the service scheduler lady for details, all she knew was that the techs had called it in to Toyota, gotten a replacement housing as step 1, and are going to be giving it a closer look.

I'm gonna guess the fact that I have a new housing 2 days later means a fire is under someone's ass somewhere, it usually takes at least a week.

FTS maybe scheduled to stop by the dealership that day, they probably want them to inspect the issue. Pretty common for repeat issues. Often the FTS will be in the area, stopping by the various dealerships and they'll set up to have the "problem children" vehicles there so they can get a deeper analysis and 2nd opinion to provide feedback up to corporate.
