CODE P2441!!

My 2012 through code P2441, (secondary air injection valve stuck close). Does anyone have any info on this. Where this valve is located, does it HAVE to be taken to the dealer...etc.

does your truck fall under the 5 yr 60k mi powertrain warranty? if so take it in and have them replace the stupid air injection valve.

 

I'm not sure about the warranty, I'll call tomorrow.

 

the 2nd air injection system is emissions so its 8yrs/80k whatever comes first

I'm not sure if that's accurate. I know on the Tundras - Toyota extended the warranty for the failing pumps, not sure about the 2nd gen but if you have more info or a link that would be great.

 

they just told me 3/36...not covered!

no i work at the dealer its a emisson system 8yrs or 80k i know cause i had to do one under warranty

 

Even for a 2012?

Pay attention OP, emissions controls have different coverage...

 

cats and engine ecu and anything emission is covered 8yrs 80k

Then why don't you call me dealer, Smarass, Doxon Toyota, Auburn Wa. They told me warranty on emissions is 3/36! Why don't you just stay the hell out of this, you are of no use.

yea i have replaced that valve under warranty on a 12 and 13 with like 50k and 65k
maybe its the dealer call and try another dealer

Emission controls are different V This guy knows, he's a tech, I used to be, find another dealer!

Don't wast your time with this guy, sounds like another "foampile" to me!

 

Also you can call Toyota 1800 number and call and complain and start a case with them and tell them that it should be covered Under the emissions 8/80 warranty. And they can get you some help to get it covered. That's what the people did that I did the valves on there Tacomas. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

 

Call the 800 number as black taco said. They have covered a couple of things the dealer hold me were out of warranty with no issue. Good luck and keep us posted.
