Ok so I have read this entire thread begin to end and I have a few questions.
    1) With the DJM 3/4 drop kit how far doe the bottom of the body sit off the ground?
    2) Someone mentioned that they felt DJM notch plate wasn't quite good enough and that one should be welded in. Can I get a bit more detail as to why that is?
    3) When I bought my taco it had an aftermarket exhaust pipe already installed. It is angled down and ends about half way between the rear axle and the back of the cab. When I lower the truck will that cause any issues?

    Additional info about my truck:
    2006 base model
    4cyl 5 speed man
    standard cab

Like one of the other members I'm a complete noob to modifying my vehicle and am greatful for the info.

How low are you planning on going?? Do you wanna be slammed or are you looking for more of a performance stance?

    1) it's a 3" drop at the front, the 4" keeps it level. Trucks sit higher in the rear.
    2) a welded connection is stronger than a bolted connection
    3) should be fine, will be louder though.

Search whitney houston thread for pics of what I went through to get lowerdz

Exactly what Phil said I had mines dumped and it was way too loud inside the cab cuz it will be closer to the ground causing the sound to be trapped I got sick of the inside drone so I had ny exhaust redone to the back

DJM 3/4 kit is perfect to be lower without beibg too low if you considered about road conditions and driveways and speedbumps
I'd suggest XII performance stock height coils to stiffen the front as for notch if you get the djm notch I'd suggest welding it for strength mines is only bolted

If he's going to weld, just get a beefed weld in, or fab his own. Yes to the XII PERF stock heights, get xr billys, and you can get used front arms for cheap on xr underground for cheap. Djm just raised their prices.

Btw I'm selling stock height springs and struts. Way low mileage

Prolly a dumb question but I figure I'll get an answer faster here than anywhere else. Are the hood scoops that come stock on some of the tacomas functioning or just for show?

You can make them functional if you bought the OZ boost turbo kit or had the diesel. Otherwise no

No :(, Christmas killed the funds. Lookin at a house to rent on Sunday though, which means I can finish my bobber and then sell it to BOOST!There is video of a URD s/c 09 with 36-37 swampers. It was fast for having all that rotational weight.
Dont think their kit will work with our 2tr, the dont get the same exact motor.....:(
