Compressors

Looking at getting an onboard or portable compressor and looking for options. It would mainly be used for adding air to tires when needed. I like the idea of an onboard setup with a on/off switch in the cab and a pressure cutoff. Looking for pros and cons of each.

 

I vote for a Viair with @Shellshock 's inflator / deflator DIY kit. I made my 300P automatic:

I vote ARB twins in the engine bay... Because, why not?

 

That is ALWAYS solid advice.

 

The twin would be overkill for me, not that I wouldn't like it. The single would be more that adequate.

 

He's a real bad boy... a real loose canon.

 

Nowhere near as cool as George Costanza.

 

If you do decide on OBA, I'd recommend the Slee mount. You can mount a myriad of different compressors to them...

That was another question I was going to ask. You beat me to it.

 

I am good at letting the smoke out. It took me way too long to research relay pins and put that together. But, it was fun.

A lot of folks have 88Ps and other non-automatic Viairs, so I like to postwhore that a bit. Seriously though, grabbing a 400P automatic for about $200 is a steal when I paid $150 for mine.

 

I can see the Postwhore thing with 21 thousand.

 

I like the always there part. The cost is a bit more, but as it is said.....Buy once cry once.
