I find when people get overly defensive there is a reason for it!
    Just saying!!!!!

Have you used Energy Suspension grease? I've used Fluid Film before but Energy Suspension grease is on another level. It has the consistency of pine sap.

Your perception and ability to understand context seems to be lacking.

Again with the defensive stance and posturing :).
Smitty I'm not saying your wrong, your just losing traction because you have to be so right ...in your face right on every issue.
Why not just post your opinion and avoid the fights ?
Or is the fight what really intrigues you?

Do not by any means run 886 coils on 5100's if you are going to add a bumper in the future.

I'm not saying his choice or desire to use Fluid Film is wrong. I'm saying that Energy Suspension grease is a lot different from fluid film in consistency and application. Nothing defensive about it.

It really sounds like a lot of people with deferring views have been happy with the 5100's and the 6112-5160's !
OP you got a lot of information on this thread let's see pic's and a review please on which setup you decide to go with!

    Okay everyone
There's been some good info laced into this schoolyard bitch fest. I've been able to narrow some things down, and I'll go with the 6112's and most likely the 5160s. Thanks to everyone who has tagged Marie, I've sent her a PM.
I'll definitely make a build thread and review my experiences, the people who have done that before me were very helpful in making my decisions, so it's on me to pass that down.

Once again - thanks for all of the advice and info!

What setting are you going to put it on?

I am on the fence about the 6112's because I want a 2" lift, which this can provide if you max it out to the highest notch. I just dont feel that can be good for the shock? I feel 3/4 setting would keep things smooth, but maxed out will it not hinder your travel range and wear the shocks faster?

Last question , but can't you switch out to 887-888 OME coils and leave setting at zero as you would with the 5100's ?

You can't use those style springs with the 6112's. 5100's utilize a spring with a flat top, and full bottom like a stock coil, where as the 6112's use a coil with flats top and bottom. What you can do is special order King springs. I believe the 6112's come with 14" 600# springs.

I have, and am aware of it's consistency. As I said in my prior post I don't live in Arizona I live in NH where Fluid Film just makes sense. I shoot the entire under carraige twice a year. No rust, no squeaks.

I did the 6112 fronts, 5160 rears. 5100 rear will work, but honestly why not just bite the bullet on the 5160's. You know you want to... ;)

I set the fronts to '3', however I ran the 6112's that were for the 2nd gen on my 2016. Basically 1.5" lift or so. I ran 265 size tires- didn't need that much rubber under foot (for me).
The 5160's come with a brake line relocation adapter- no need to extend the brake lines. Calculate that in the cost difference between 5100's and extended brake lines. I doubt they are even necessary for the 5100's.

I went with the 3 leaf add-a-leaf deal. Many vendors carry them and they are all the same. Just depends on who you want to buy them from. I removed the add-a-leaf, however in retrospect I would have left it on. I carried loads and did tow on occasion. I can deal with a truck ride.

I did the install myself over labor day weekend. My son and I. Easy peesy...

The ride was excellent- Not jarring, compliant, excellent offroad characteristics for a modest price. If I were ever to own a Taco again- I would do this over again.
