Hi all I have a 2013 DCSB trd or 11.5k mi on the clock.

Just notice that the plastic around the auto shift lever creaks when going over bumps... i can stop it by putting downward pressure on the chrome ring / plastic around the gear indicator. Anyone else had this issue?

Mine is perfect, but with all the 4 wheeling I have been doing I wonder when something will come loose.

YES. I rest my leg on the console, especially on long drives, and it creaks with every movement of the truck.

I took mine apart and stuck pieces of sound deadner underneath where I thought the sounds might be coming from. The sounds/creaks are gone.

That storage cubby at the lower right of the steering wheel also made noises. I quiet that guy down, too.

I've taken off that piece a ton of times, don't need to take front cupholders out. Remove shifter, then get a good grip on the little rectangular slot on the passenger side of plastic piece, pull up to release the pins near to the corner on that side, then work the piece all the way around to release the rest of the plastic pins. Done this plenty of times and never had an issue with anything breaking. Yellow plastic pins might pop off, just pop them back on.

Those are inside the console, under the patch of carpet when you open the door.
It's all in that link I posted.

Ended up pulling it apart. Tightened the 2 10mm bolts below the carpet.

But i think the creaking was related to the actual plastic overlay piece of the shifter thats UNDERNEATH the main piece that surrounds the shifter.

The piece that has PNR321 on it. Its held in place by 4 clips. I pulled it off and used strategically placed piece of electrical tape to tighten up the gap that it on all the mating surfaces. Doesnt creak by hand at all any more, tomorrow mornings drive will tell me if this is true.

hmm well the fix i did wasnt the creaking issue..... i ended up driving to work this morning with all of the shifter console area apart to make sure that it wasnt those pieces creaking.

It seems like its the climate adjustment panel. Anyone have any links on how to pull that apart?

well hells bells I did what nd4spdbh did 2 posts above, but with silicone tape

I had a little creak or tick come and go for a while, wondering where it was
(for some reason it sounds like it comes from anywhere except the actual spot)

So...yanked the console part around the shifter, then unclipped the shifter guide thingy

on the white part that is left over, right above where the 4 tabs that last piece clicks onto, I placed a little 3mmx5mm piece of silicone tape, basically on all 4 corners, so when I snap down the shifter guide, it requires a bit of pressure for all 4 tabs to lock.

    then reassembled the console cover

all creaks gone! I had no idea they were coming from that part, but removing all play in it with the thin silicone tape fixed it ! cab is now super silent on bumps
