Okay, so I take my stock wheels in to get the tires removed so i could sell them to a 3rd party. As I am standing there watching them remove the tire from the wheel I notice they are having difficulty removing the wheel weight.
Upon closer inspection I see that they have marred the wheel with the weight removel tool.... nice little craters. Needless to say I go a lil postal and tell everyone within earshot to drop the tools and back away slowly, I mean WTF?? How hard can it be?
Even though I do not currently use the stock wheels I feel as if the tire joint should pay to have them repaired as they were basically new wheels (apprx. 8k miles).
I know things cant be kept perfect forever but com'on, Am i asking too much?
Has anyone ever incountered this before?

yes, sometimes people don't care about the quality of their work and are not careful.

My good friend's shop is the only one I take my truck and Del Sol to. He and Joe, Timmer, Chris and Myles are super & I am grateful to know them. Every Christmas I get them a gift basket/cards as a token of my appreciation. http://natesautomotivevt.com/
Your story reminded me that I have to drop it off this Friday.

What ended up happening? Are they covering your damage?

some of this, a little of that
Are you sure the "nice little craters" were caused by the removal the the wheel weights or were they created when they were pounded on during install?

The manager on duty said they would take of it, but that was well over a week ago. I will give them a bit more time to respond and if not I will push the issue.

Jester243...nope they were created by removing the weight. I was actually standing and watching them trying to remove them....it was the tool that was doing the damage.

It is soo tough to find a shop where you can trust your vehicles to, sounds like you are pretty lucky there. :)
