i want to access the back of the factory radio/CD to hardwire an Ipod, meaning i need to remove the plastic trim from around the radio. does anyone have any experience doing this. i'd rather not break any clips/fasteners if at all possible.

    tanks a bunch!

I just installed a VAIS Ipod interface in my 07 Tacoma with JBL. After studying several forums on installs, one thing I picked up on was putting masking tape below heater/air conditioner control module so you don't scratch panel as you pry that unit out. I used the following sites for how to do things.

    http://homepage.mac.com/ebones/PhotoAlbum13.html

    http://www.starmanage.com/installation/tacomadash/

I ran wiring into center console using a rubber grommet where wire came into center console. IPOD sits in console, much easier to get to then in glove box.
