It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
We all know about the CPS issues a lot of the 2016's are experiencing. I was talking about my recent troubles with a friend that suggested it might be related to where the truck was built. I know they are built in Texas and in Mexico. I also heard that some are built in Canada, but can't find any confirmation of that. So... I thought maybe it could be related to either the build process at one location or the other, and maybe a run of faulty CPS's at one location or the other.

If you have had a failure, where was your truck built? Mine was Texas.

You should make this a poll.

Mexico. No issues here and hopefully it stays that way!

The plants in Texas and Mexico are just assembly plants. They don't make parts there. The majority of the parts on your truck are still made in Japan and then shipped over for assembly.

Understand that. However I believe they buy things like sensors from other manufacturers in batches, and those batches likely generally stay together and get shipped to one or the other assembly site. One site might have received a marginal batch of sensors, or the installation machine (or process) may differ between the assembly sites.

What's the root cause? Is the sensor failing because the component is bad? Or has it been damaged/mishandled? Installed incorrectly? Bunch of stuff here we'd have to look at to try and determine root cause. Unfortunately do not think we will be privy to all of the information required to make a concrete determination on our own. I have similar intrigue to the rear differential issues that MANY here are reporting.

Very likely true, but if there are enough responses, a pattern could emerge, that, if nothing else, might indicate that a truck having been assembled in one plant or the other might be at higher risk, and therefore one could potentially be proactive and get it replaced before if fails in order to minimize the risk of getting stranded somewhere extremely inconvenient - say while off-road where a wrecker would having a hard time rescuing you. I mean who wants to see an H3 pulling a Taco out of the back woods.

Truggin, you might have to hunt down the folks that reported CPS issues and point them to this thread.

Wow... I though I was certain that mine was Mexican, but now that the dealer is trying to sell it, and has pics on-line, I see it was Texas. So I've changed my vote. Replacement is from Texas as well. Now I'm nervous... Phuck...

I must be in a minority, the way people complain about this and that. I haven't had
any issues at all. Sorry this doesn't contribute to this CPS thing.
