And you're basing this off of what electric engineering background?

Sure, so long as you don't mind running around all day long with your fog lights on. I do a LOT of driving in the day plus a lot of starting and stopping which means a LOT of extra powering on & off plus running for no reason. Not with this mod.

They still function EXACTLY the same way they would normally with the caveat that they will now stay on when the brights come on. This means that they will NOT come on w/o the headlights turned on and you can still turn them off manually with the switch. So, only do this mod if you want the fog lights to stay on when you toggle on the high beams. Otherwise, no change. Make more sense?

There you go. That's a more succinct way to describe it I guess. The only downside to the anytime mod that lots of people have done is that if you drive a lot during the day you will either have to manually turn your fogs off and then remember to turn them on again at night manually or they will just be on all day long. This is extra use on your bulbs or HID components if that's what you have for no functional use other than looks. This causes a great deal of wear and tear and shortened life if you start and stop a lot throughout the day.

I still have no idea why some would criticize this mod. To some the on anytime mod is silly but you don't see me in there talking about how foolish it is to do it to look cool. I get that that's what YOU want so who am I to judge? This is how I wanted mine to operate so why are people questioning it? Sheesh.

Sure thing! No problem at all, it's kind of confusing to explain so I'm sure reading it may not have made a whole lot of sense at first either. I tend to over explain things sometimes too which makes it more confusing than it really needs to be. :D

Correct me if i am wrong but with anytime fogs you still need to turn on parking lights or headlights, high or low, for the fogs to be on? So if it is sunny, just leave them off? Im not criticizing the op but im starting to think im either missing something or losing it.

    Easy....

Intercept the power to the fog lights and insert a relay.
You will need the 5-pin relay as you will need pin 87a.
    87a is the normally-closed connection.

Connect the high beam hot to pin 85 and ground 86.
When the high beams turn on, it energizes the relay coil, which opens the relay and kills the fogs.

The Anytime mod is just that... anytime. This means that if your ignition is on and your fog light switch is on... they're on. You have to turn off the fog light switch if you want them off.

that's not true. i actually tested it this morning to make sure i'm not crazy. i always leave fog light switch in "on" position. with headlights off, no fogs. if i switch to parking, low, or high beams, foglights on. so if i wanted to drive around on a sunny day with just my foglights on, which i don't, i could switch the parking lights on. otherwise, no fogs, no problem.

Your fogs turn off when the fog switch is on the truck is running and your headlights are off? Seems the 'fog lights anytime' mod needs a new name then.

Mine is the same as posted above.

Ignition on w/o parking or headlights- fogs off
Ignition on w/ parking, headlights or high beams - fogs on

I did the fog light mod where you jump the relay to the trailer wiring relay. With this mod your foglights wont come on during the day every 3-4 hours as happens with the hard wired fog light mod.

I havent had it happen to me personally because I didnt wire my fogs like that, but Ive read it on this site numerous times. I have no idea what causes it, I just know mine doesnt do that.

Yeah - this is the same one i did. Did a lot of reading before i went ahead with it and this seemed to be the easiest method with no side effects. Been a few months - so far so good.

Could be that Ostrichsak has DRL... that might make a difference in how it works.

I was able to install my HID kits a while back and everything has tested just fine. For all the electrical engineers who said my truck would explode this simply isn't the case much like I had figured. My hi/low kit is even the 55 watt version rather than the standard 35 watt HID kit that most people get. Even with this added wattage everything is just fine. I don't like suggesting anyone try anything until I get a chance to test it thoroughly so that's why I had that note. Much like I expected everything functions just fine and I can drive with my lows, highs & fogs all on at once. It's a beautiful thing.

No problems what-so-ever with over 5k miles on this mod with plenty of night driving. As I figured, works flawlessly and no problems at all.
