I have this take off shudder from the day i got this truck, and my 3/36 will be up in about 6k. I have done the carrier bearing drop, axle shim, greased my zerks, and everything else i have read about on TW .
I went to Toyota of Des Moines several times, the service tech was helpful, but vague with his ideas and they looked at it several times with no change.

I finally decided to take them proof and document this issue. I borrowed the flip camera from my wife, strapped it next to the carrier bearing and did a couple of 0-15 mph. the results were great.

Below is the link to the youtube video.

I presented the service tech with this video and got a "well that is not right" response. I have an appointment on wed to have this fixed. (he ordered a whole new propeller assembly, and several other bearings and joints)

My 09 does the same thing. The Toyota tech says it's a torque converter shudder.

ok got it back from the dealer and they stated that it was the slip joint. It only seemed to bind when under load. Unfortunately due to the parts availability issue they could not order it until today, now I have to bring it back tomorrow. In the mean time I had them swap out the sub because it was having some distortion at higher volumes. Hey there's a TSB for that !
Also had them do both diff and transfer case fluids
