Comes with the whole door trim panel and aren't cheap. New one's run anywhere from $500 to $600 dollars.

It's cracked under the cloth. Saw LOTS of complaints about this on the forums. It seems like it will just pop out!

Take the door panel off and look at the back of it. See if it will come off, but as far as Toyota goes, it's a whole panel. Here's a another idea, maybe try an upholstery shop and see if they can do anything.

05-08 should fit. Most salvage yards should be able to get the correct one for you.

Mine is cracked as well and it was that way when I bought the truck...

I've read a handful of threads on this forum about my options. They range from a full replacement to plastic welding and everything in between. One of these days (probably the first time my elbow gets pinched or the crack under the fabric becomes visible) I'm going to take my door panel off and address the issue. One of the easiest and least expensive repairs I've seen mentioned involves using a hot glue gun, some two part epoxy and some form of a rigid backing. You basically fill the crack using the hot glue then epoxy a flat, rigid piece of plastic or thin metal over the repaired crack. You can also address the crack from the top if you're interested in changing out the upholstery on the arm rests. Do a quick search of the forum and you'll find most of the suggested repairs. Good luck.

You can remove just that part but you will have to dremel off plastic weld heads. You might be able to glue something under the crack to shore it up and recover it with black vinyl while you have it off. I'm sure as stated that you would have to scored the door panel from a part out or salvage yard for your butthole to not hurt(dealership prices). There is a how-to for recover armrests. After you dremel the plastic welds and fix/recover it then you reattach with #5 sheetmetal screws and washers. Tedious chore but worth it to end up with vinyl, leather or neoprene armrest. You could even sneak a thin layer of padding under the material too................

edit - ooooo, quickdraw beat me too it ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ :D

Mine cracked in the same exact spot. I pulled the whole panel off and just ran a nice bead of superglue over the crack and it works like a charm

Always afraid I'm going to break that piece.. Usually getting in my truck I put my left hand there and can feel it bend a little. Bad habit I know but I just can't get use to grabbing the oh sh-t handle

Yeah, you'll have to repair or replace it. Mine cracked too when I leaned towards the door to talk to someone. Heard it pop. I mentioned the poor design of it, not being supported, to the dealership, and the guy told me toyota probably wouldn't cover it under warranty. I told him I appreciated his honesty, because I had planned to get my wife into a new 4runner in the next year or so and would have to think abut it now .. and he said, well, let me talk to the big wigs and see what I can do. Some days went by and he called me at home and told me to bring it in for a replacement. Needless to say, I don't even go near that portion of the panel anymore. If I need to shift my ass in the seat, I put my hand on the grab handle. I had planned to cut some other plastic and plastic weld in a thicker support for it from the bottom side, but never had to. If it cracks again that's what I'll do. There is 0 support under the panel. Old trucks and cars at least had that angled stamped steel support there, but not these.

I try to never put my elbow there, mostly because the cloth seems like it gets dirty very easily. It's not even the same material as the seats, so it doesn't even match, I wish there were aftermarket leather ones available.

Yeah, that piece was designed to fail by Toyota, look how it’s scored- should be a lawsuit.
I’ve thought about giving mine a fiberglass backing
