It has gotten progressively louder over time but still doesn't bug me in the cabin. You get caught in these certain RPM's sometimes that kinda gets annoying with the same drone sound, but it rarely happens to me. I like the 40 a lot and would recommend it.

edit: and in my video it sounds real loud in the cabin because I was accelerating very quickly. You can hear the windshield make the humm sort of noise where the TSB comes in, but not like I can reproduce it going the speed limit around the dealer. :(

TRD is basically is twice as loud as stock and bassier, but could be louder... It doesn't drone, and has a decent roar when you step on it. After being on for 4 yrs now its still in good shape, only signs of rust are little on the welds in/out of muffler. After one NY winter my stock exhaust was rusted all over. Overall $400 well spent, and was easy to install myself.

Having the 5x8 magnaflow installed right now. The guy convinced me to go mag based on the sound I was looking for. Im having them do single in dual out. Thoughts?

Check your pms...Im curious if your duals are angled out the corner or if its set up like stock but on both sides. Im an idiot and cant tell from the pics.

    Thanks!

I have flowmaster 40 and K&N CAI as well my tips are angled out both sides. Looks good, but might dump it when I start going offroading more. Also, i don't like the sound of the magnaflow on the Tacoma.

Idk, can't really explain it other than I didn't like the tone it had. My friend had one on his and it just sounded alright to me. I'm pretty sure it wasn't an 5x8 though so I have no idea how yours will sound.

    getting there....
this is the same thing i did back last year, and its definitely worth it. the dynomax muffler isnt too loud and obnoxious, but it has a good clean sound....and the extra gain with it is nice.

I just had a Flo-Pro Max installed this past Wednesday. At certain RPM's it is much louder in the cab. It seems to quiet down a little bit when the truck warms up.

I didn't buy the exhaust for horsepower gains anyway.

I wanted my truck to have some 'sound' - unlike the silent truck that came off the factory line.

    Yeah, it's a bling bling mod - but I enjoy it. :D

I have a borla cat back sounds great but if i had to do it over again i would get the flowmaster race series, the one that is 4'' long, it sound so good. loud but good.

Why isn't anyone recommending DT headers? Sound change AND horsepower increase. Price is close and it seems as if that would serve both purposes, no?
