I spent weeks reading this forum and reviews of different lights. Once I decided on HID it became a little easier. The 3 really good ones are, Morimoto (theretrofitsource), Xenon Depot and DDM tuning in that order.
When it really comes right down to it, Morimoto HID's have the best harness, bulbs and ballasts. Best of all, they're not the most expensive and have the best warranty (5 years) with the 4500k bulb. theretrofitsource has a preconfigured kit specifically for your truck which comes with everything you need. BTW, there is a known issue with 5500k bulbs on the Tacoma so I would stay with their recommended package. There's quite a few on here that have bulb envy and think that the bigger number has to be better. Lol

Yes plug and play. Some routing of the harness and mounting of the the ballasts but nothing that a little garage time with your favorite beverage won't make more enjoyable.

Agreed! I never cared much for it on the previous Camry but it looks great on the Tacoma.

No they won't melt and I do have them. Many, many people on this forum use and swear by them. The only issue I've read were with the 5500k bulbs and power issues when not using the wiring harness. The harness provides direct continuous power from the battery so you shouldn't have flicker or startup issues.
My wife's 2014 Avalon LTD has factory HID's and I became hooked.

LOL, I'm not gonna lie or pretend to know anything about roof rack light bars. Do a search first before you post though, they get a little agitated around here if you haven't noticed.
I'll follow your future upgrades with anticipation!

welcome, from another Pro owner... a super happy one as well.

after watching your discussion here I'm recommending this for a headlight solution:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hyluxtek-hid-kit-with-cnlight-ball-bulbs.457461/

i have it and I've watched all the threads. this keeps the lenses, is plug & play with an easy install, and it can (and should) run off a waterproof relay and skips the fusebox draw. anyway take a look for yourself.

mine's white, but i love the red btw.
