Hey fam, my uncle and I installed after market fog lights on my 15 tacoma and it works but the toggle switch to turn on the fog light won't turn off after car turns off or after I turned off fog lights. Any ideas? My truck came with just the plastic inserts, that's why I installed those.

I'm guessing you wired the switch, or did you find wiring behind the blank and just plug it in?

From your post I believe you mean the switch led itself. The lighted switch. Based on what you say then I believe you have incorrectly wired the switch illumination to a constant 12v and not a switched 12v source. You need to make sure it is on a switched source.

I'm assuming you mean the switch is lighted? If so, did you wire the switch? The typical light toggle will have 3 leads.....power-in, power-out and a ground. Try swapping the power-in and power-out leads

If it's a simple 3 lead lighted switch it uses the power-in along with a ground to illuminate....but only when the switch is thrown. If the power-in and power-out are reversed it will usually cause the switch to stay lit.....while it still functions correctly

Yes but some switches have dual LEDs, typically a lower that stays lit when truck is on and an upper that lights when activated. OP which do you have?

Understood. But I'm guessing this is a simple single stage lighted toggle. He did mention these were aftermarket fogs. So I'm not assuming he meant "OEM style" fogs

That's just it. IDK if he is prewired and used a wrong switch or not.

My 10 wasn't prewired and a member here did my install.

That's my belief but I'm not sure how his wiring is.

If prewired maybe the switch he used isn't compatible. I doubt it but it's possible.

His post seems to indicate just the switch stays lighted.

Find a fuse in your engine bay fuse box that's switched (off when car is off, on when car is on) by using a multimeter. This will only give the fog lights power when your car is turned on. The switch would shut off when the car is off.
