    UPDATE:

    Swapping wires worked on a 2015 Taco....BUT.....

I swapped the wires around (and to be honest, getting them out was not that hard once you study the back of the pins and see the tab that needs to be pushed down to release the wires) and got the fog lights to work on their own with DRL, with parking lights and with headlights or with nothing but the fogs. However, once I turned the truck on, a CEL and TARC OFF light came on. Using the ScanGaugeII I read the code, P0144 (02 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank I Sensor 3)). I cleared the code, the CEL and TRAC OFF light go away, only to have it come back on 5-6 seconds later.

I swapped them back to clear the CEL and keep things stock for now, but I want to get to the bottom of things and see what I can do to run fogs independently.

Question I have is, why did this pop a fuel/air metering code? Is one of the wires from some emissions control like the secondary filter or an EGR valve? Any suggestions and or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Instead of swapping the wires, couldn't you just tap into the blue and white and jumper over to the red? Will that work?

Just a quick question from a someone who knows just enough to be pain in the ass but not enough to be helpful. When you look at this picture the fog relay has four wires: a +12v to the coil, wire from the coil that goes to ground when fog light switch is turned on, and then the larger +12 v from source, and when the coil is powered 12v to the load. Which of the two coil wires comes from the +12v? When testing with multimeter it shows 12v on both sides of the coil because it registers 12 volts going into the coil and 12 volts coming out of the coil. In the picture you mention the red wire with black stripe and the blue wire with the white stripe. The red with black stripe wire is on the right side which I assume is the +12v. The blue with white stripe is on the left which seems like it would be the +12v coming off the coil. If you are tapping into the airpump relay to supply +12v the the fog relay, shouldn't you use the wire to the right side of the airpump relay. It probably makes no difference. You're getting +12v no matter which side.

I have a '13 DCLB with this setup. If I followed the directions correctly (I pulled the Red w/Black stripe wire and capped it, then T-Tapped the Blue w/ White stripe and ran the wire to where the Red w/ Black stripe wire is), I am wondering why my fogs produce 2 oddities, at least me for my knowledge:
    1. the fogs delay shut off when I shut the truck off
    2. the fogs have come on at random while the truck is off and then shut off some time later. Most recently this morning they were on apparently for 45 mins.

    Any insight would help?

^^^This fixed my problem. Was tapped into the EFI. Just ran an Add-a-Circuit from the A/C fuse to the under side of the smaller relay box housing the fog relay and added a terminal so I could plug straight into the relay. Thanks evansb2.

Wait! So the blue/white wire is for the EFI?

I just did this mod on my '15. My fogs shut off about 10 seconds after killing the ignition.

    Am I gonna have problems?

Well, for me, my fogs would delay shutting off, and at times would kick on while I was inside or parked at the store something. I forget why it does that but it can happen when tied into the EFI. If someone remembers why feel free to chime in.
