I am considering adding seat risers to the passenger seat in my Taco but I see that there are risers available for the front and back. I don't really want to buy both to figure out which one works better. My wife complains of leg and back pain on long road trips. What have you guys found that works best?

All depends on her height, leg length. Front risers will give better leg support for longer legs. I have front risers, and they made world of difference. 6'-1" 33" inseam.

Just thought about it for a bit, and I think if I put a leveler on the seat in her car (which is adjusted for her), then repeat in my passenger seat, I should be able to see which way I need to go. Wouldn't be an exact science, as there are some variables such as floor to seat height, etc. but should at least get me moving in the right direction.

I installed front risers for leg support. Find they improve comfort a lot.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Why not grab a couple of bath towels, fold them up, place them on the seat bottom in various locations (e.g. front, under her legs or rear under her butt) and then judge whether it's the front or rear of the seat that needs to be raised. Proceed accordingly.

I tried rear risers before fronts were available...made my leg pain worse on drives over 30-45 mins. Removed those and added front risers, pain gone. Even on long multi-day road trips or driving upwards of 9 hours in a day. The front risers provide support under my thighs. I'm 5'10" with a 31" inseam.

    What I purchased: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...s-lifts-the-front-of-the-seat-3rd-gen.607482/

My review after purchase and use: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...the-seat-3rd-gen.607482/page-17#post-21624698

And I've done a lot more driving since...only time I have leg pain is if I forget to take my wallet out of my back pocket. But that's an easy solution.

Sorry to hijack thread here a bit OP, but if anyone else could help.

I'm not a tall guy at all (5'6") and I see a lot of taller people using the front risers for leg support. I get that "seat risers" sounds very obvious, but did you feel the front risers really helped give you lift as well? (although that doesn't seem to be the tall individuals concern here)

I'm 6'1 and noticed no lift with the front risers (other than thigh support). I did however drop my seat height slightly to fit under the wheel better but don't think I experienced higher sightlines prior to seat height adjustment.

I couldn’t drive longer than an 1hr with my back hurting and back of legs, constantly shifting around trying to get comfortable. It felt like I was sitting with the Cali lean so I raised the rear (1”) and immediately felt a difference. I was skeptical at first but I’m glad I tried it. 5’10”

Front made all the difference for me, especially on the flat passenger seat. I did add 3/4” under the rear drivers side and 1/4” under the rear passenger.

6 foot here, 34 in inseam. My seat felt like I was sliding forward out of it. Did the front risers, thumbs up, all good now.

Just to expand on this- it also depends on how your truck sits. Example, I was sagging in the rear with a cap (roughly 180 lbs) nothing else but sagging nonetheless on stock. Now when I say sag I lost my factory rake so it was probably more level (I personally don’t like level because on the occasions I tow, or pick up a heavy load I’m really squatting). So my rear sag/level truck made me feel as if I was in a Cali lean in the seat so the 1” rear fixed my uncomfortableness dramatically. Past weekend I installed 3leaf aal and obviously raised the rear (maybe a tad above stock) so I can feel that in the seat (maybe almost too much), I’ll have to give it awhile and a long drive if I need to make an adjustment.

Little late to reply but in case you are still trying to find some info. I'm 5' 6" and felt almost the opposite of what these tall fellas feel. The rear part of the seat felt just a little bit too low so I added a 1/4" spacer to the rear bolts. Couldn't believe it but thats all I needed to give me a little bit of a lift. I've only driven it a couple of miles but the seat position feels great. We'll see how I feel in a week or so lol.

trying to fit an amplifier under front passenger seat, I installed 1-1/2 risers on the back and it made the seat lean forward quite a bit making it uncomfortable physically and in mind. It seems like the front risers are kinda standard at 1-1/4", but I know it'll kinda even out the front to back angle and give us more of a view over the hood skewp.
