hey everyone, I'm new here to the forum and was hoping I could get some answers to a problem I'm having with my truck. I have a 2012 Tacoma 4wd off road package. I was in 2wd just drifting around in the desert and whenever I drift sideways it feels like my front left wheel starts to lock up and makes this horrible grinding noise. Ive only had the truck for probably a month now, so I'm wondering if this is supposed to be normal? Some sort of traction control thing? Everything is stock on the truck. Thanks in advance everyone!

Ive noticed that the traction control kicks in above about 20 MPH regardless if you turned it off or not. If this 10 second trick temporarily disables it, that would be nice. (For the same reason the OP stated, sometimes its nice to just go out and goof off)

Will the 10 second trick reset when you stop the truck and start up again?

Holding it for ten seconds almost completely disables the traction control at any speed. You can either simply push the traction control button or it resets when you turn the truck off

It's the VSC kicking in. It's normal. It can be disabled by holding down the VSC/TRAC button for 5 seconds while the truck is stopped.
