Has anyone else had this issue where the gas door is out of wack and won't close?
    It's a 2016 long bed.

Everything thing looks okay inside - as far as I can tell.

The hinge is rusted up usually. Try and lube her up and put it back into wack. Just don't bend it!

Toyota should get rid of the fuel door, an exposed filler cap would look more utilitarian.

Def got bent somewhere in the hinge. Look to see if you can see any small cracks anywhere in paint in the hinge. That will tell where the bend happened. If no cracks to show where the bend happened you may want to get a body tech or someone competent to adjust it back. (So no one from this site:rofl:)

I see two ways of dealing with this.
    1. Body shop
    2. Grab a beer. Open that flap about 45 degrees and put a little hip into it, forward and up. Report back.

Yeah. Honestly looks like, open it 90* shove it twoards the bed and be done. It looks inline, just scooted right too far.

Like previously stated. Scrub that crust off your bunghole. Lube up that hinge, then give it a yank or tug. Just not to hard. :hattip:

Try flipping the plastic cap retainer where it attaches to the door up to the 12:00 position. Sometimes it gets caught and doesn’t let the door close.

Like already mentioned...lubricate the hinge first. Looks like it was forced some, and now needs to be put back. Spraying some lubricant in there every one in awhile is a good thing.
