    A bungee cord.

Because if I'm carrying gasoline, it's for function, not for Instagram.

Not sure I would go the bungee chord route personally, but I typically secure them with rachet straps. Now I am talking for normal road driving, not crazy off road stuff. Maybe that requires a more robust solution.

Just curious - what is the white barrel with the red lid for? I always find it interesting to look at what people have in the back of their rigs and that stood out as interesting.

    Dog food. :cookiemonster:

Originally that container came from one of our European plants. It's their super fancy version of a Homer bucket. The plastic is a little more stout - a slightly thicker but lower density polyethylene - and the lid is screw top with a rubber gasket.

We use it at work when shipping quicklime samples back and forth (mainly forth, we can't buy those containers in the US and we like them too much to ship them back). But I figured that that would be a decent container to transport dog food to camp. 3 dogs on a one week road trip can go through a 30 pound bag if they really want to. :eek:The idea is that the gasket lid might be helpful in places where one does not want to produce curious smells. :D

Here's my solution for the Jerry can - 32" bungee with multiple holes. Stole an extra S hook off the old one that broke so I can attach it in three places and voila.

You’re good as long as you buy the gas can and a fancy mount/holder from an overlanding company so you pay 4 or 5 times more than a regular jerry can from any hardware store.

Even better if you skip buying the old surplus from Coleman's.

The absolute best way ive found. Secured with 3 long neck keyed locks to the lower right bed tie down and C clips ancored with the recessed bed box screws. If i need to refill or remove the can or the whole cage for truck bed room it can be done in 15 seconds the ratchet strap method took minutes at the gas station to wrap around the whole can.

I like how short that holder is. Is it a Wavian knock off? Seems like it would be easier to get a full can in and out compared to a full height holder.

I currently run Harbor Freight Midwest cans in 2x Taco Jerry holders in the nose of the bed. Holders are made by a guy on here. Added some cheap foam padding to take up the extra space and a cheap strap and they have been pretty solid. Coupled with a TerraPump TREP04L makes filling up about as easy as it can be without having to lift the full cans out of the bed over all my other camping stuff.

On a few very long trips I have done 3x cans stacked side by side in the nose with one strap over and one behind them. That worked pretty good, but for normal trips the extra weight isnt worth it.

Wavian brand jerry can and just a cheap ebay jerry can holder. (3) 3" long shackle pad locks one on front/back and for the jerry can all keyed the same (makes sense)
