Just got mine yesterday. 265/70/17 C's They are enormous, if I hadn't read that others have them and dont have rubbing problems I wouldn't have believed it. They are quite heavy (I might wiegh them as no one seems to know the wieght) and look like small tractor tires. They kinda scare me, in a good way. Can’t wait to mount em.

Seriously bud...they are gonna give your truck a WHOLE new look. Ive actually been pulled aside by people the last few days asking about them. As I mentioned before, I actually had a guy ask if it was some sort of "special edition" Tacoma. I laughed and told him its pretty much a stock Off Road with new tires.

Two cans was all it took for all four wheels. I didn't clear since I want to be able to just sand and touch-up any areas that might get scratched/chipped. So far they are holding up great.

I'm fixin ta try out the 275/65/18s on mine after work. They are 50 lbs each which is same as 285/60/18 NTGs I have now. They are 32.1 OD instead of 31.5 or whatever the NTGs are. Hoping for no more than the slightest of rubs on the plastic fender liner in front of the tire like I have now & that's only backing up with wheel turned all the way in. All of the 18s are E rated. If I can get a good enough deal I may go with new 17" rims and 265/70/17s which are C rated 44lbs each 31.7 OD. They would be more comfortable with taller sidewall and go from 11" contact patch to 10.7" & easier for the 4 cyl to push around.................too much tire trigonometry dammit:D

I know what they weigh, been thru tons of tire shit lately.....44lbs each for C rated - 50 lbs each for E rated in that size.

I have 285/75 R16 on my truck with a 3" OME lift, i had to cut the inner fender skirt, and it still rubs a lil i think on the cab mount. Cab mount chop is definitely on the to do list. I had mine road force balanced on a set of eagle alloys, no vibes they have been great so far.

Cool locale for the pics. What fort/post is that? There are ones like that up in the bay area of California which look like exact copies.

For those of you who came from the stock TRD OR tires, how much change in MPG have you seen with the duratracs?

OK, ended up going with the 275/65/18s. They don't stick out quite as much as the 285/60/18s did. Found out my rims are 18x9.5. The tires do touch, as in will rip the shit out of the plastic tits that hang down in front of the wheel well where it was barely touching before. The do not touch the frame behind the wheel tho. It is only if wheels completely turned in. I will be cutting the plastic tits and folding them onto themselves & putting a screw with a clip on it to get it out of they way and still keep it's integrity where it won't flap around. The ride is better than before and not any louder on the hwy. The GPS says my speedo is correct. The tires are 10 ply E rated & say 80psi max, I'm only running 35 in them right now. Thinking maybe going a little higher like 40 or so. The only thing I've noticed is a bit of stability loss cornering due to the other tires being lower profile & barely wider. The trade off in traction will be more than worth it. It will change my driving habits for the better, lol, and make the tires last longer. The lack of caster being correct seems lessened with the new tires but will be doing the UCAs real soon now & gettin it realigned before my year is up with that so it'll be free. Don't know what deals people got but mine was not a bargain since having 18s means mas dinero anyway.....1250 for the tires/road hazard/mounting/balancing/roadside assistance/free flat repairs/old tire disposal & 160 rebate for using the goodyear credit card so we'll call it 1090...which is about what the NTGs woulda costed me too. Coulda went with new rims to get down to 17 but that wouldn't have saved anything this time, only made it 2g so I just went with the 18s. Tractorifica & yes, I brought the camera but it's dead & it's charging so pics forthcoming.............2500th post :woot:Oh, & BTW, this was another one of those rewarding times where the wife is tellin me to go ahead and do it now...can't hear that often enough, even tho I'm no stranger to her using that phrase, lol...FTMFW!!!

    Here's pics................

    RE: MPG

I'm running a set of the Wrangler Authorities. Almost identical tread/shoulder pattern; no lift; 265/75R16. My MPG dropped about a mile or two ... maybe? Pretty negligible, if you ask me.
