I read your other post below, i don't have any specific one rivnut. I like using on my projects, since you have the option to remove whenever. Always dill with step down bits, so as to have the tightest/snug fit of the rivnut.

Just a update on the half priced struts

I didnt get a chance to try to install them this weekend, between the cold (35 degrees) the snow on sunday, the car audio stuff I installed and licking part of my truck, my weekend was full.

Im going to try to do them in stages this week though.

Hood struts are the way to go. You wouldn't want a prop rod on a hatch-back. Why have one on your hood?

My pleasure! I bought mine last night and already have a shipping notice/tracking number. I’ll have them Wednesday! Went to harbor freight today and bought a Rivet tool.

Got mine installed last night. The installation was pretty easy, but very nerve wracking drilling into the truck. Used my touch up paint pen to add corrosion protection and sprayed some fluid film in where I felt necessary. All in all took only a little over an hour.

So I Did just try to mount them, seems my hood side mounts have the ball on the opposite side of the redline ones. Im going to still try to mount them, but I need to do some extra legwork to make sure it all fits right.

I think it should be just fine mounting them though. I am going to give it another shot this weekend, we are supposed to get 13 inches of snow from wed-fri, so that will hamper my week working time. I also want to wait to drill holes till I get my fluid film in on friday.

I should of ordered these for the hood side mounts
    https://www.siraweb.com/bracket-gpb1r

Im going to try with what I have, and if they dont work I will order the other set, The other set are the same dimensions, same bolt hole spacing, just with the ball on the other side.

Couldn't you just turn the current mounts around so the ball faces in towards the engine bay and the mounting flange is outboard?

Thats what I plan to do, but I have to make sure where I mount them works for the other mounts too. There is only a small space that is flat that I can mount them on, so if it doesnt fit on that space, I have to switch to the other mounts.
