Sorry, haven't logged on in quite sometime. A few have asked about the spacer length so I added this to the OP.

I don't remeber the exact lengths I made them as I turned to fit during the install. But from roughly measuring with just a ruler the top one is 15/16" & the the two others are 3/8". YMMV

For those that have installed a cooler, please take a look at my diagram (non-scale) and make sure my hoses plumbed accurately.

    1. Trans-stock cooler-aux cooler-trans
    2. Trans-aux cooler-stock cooler-trans
    3. Trans-bypass stock cooler-aux cooler-trans

I'm still trying to decide how I want to plumb it.

Number 2 above doesn't make sense. Why would you cool the fluid down with the aux only to heat it back up with the oem one. Defeats the purpose of what the Hayden is for. Generally, the oem "cooling" is from running the trans fluid line thru the radiator which isn't much help anyway but better than nothing? Let's have the tranny fluid heat up what is cooling the motor? Not much help for the motor or trans. Option 1 or 3.

I agree with you but it is an option. However, not something I'm going to do. Folks in the colder weather choose this option so the ATF doesn't get too cold. Regardless, my main goal is to make sure my plumbing is correct. Hopefully when I receive it, it will make more sense.

    Yes.

Throw option 3 in the trash. Option 2 is not really the best way to go, so go with option 1.

Do yourself a favor and buy extra hose at your autoparts store of choice before you start the install - you'll be short otherwise. It's cheap so get an extra 6' or so.

Thanks. Why is option 3 trash? Bypassing the radiator will keep the ATF cooler.

I plan on buying more hose.

I just want to make sure my plumbing is correct and makes sense.

Stupid question but I noticed my aux cooler does not have a labeled Sender or Return outlet connection. Are the inlet and outlet connections based on how I hook up the tranny sender and return lines?

I guess my question is, the ATF will flow in any direction based on how I connect the sender and return hoses, right?

OK, didn't think about the cold climate thing. I live where hot is the thing 8 months of the year so somewhere that is the opposite is not foremost in my thought patterns.............

Not a stupid question and answer = yes, just hook it up and it will flow.

You are correct. I plumbed mine so the cooler is placed sideways (inlet holes on the side, facing the center of the radiator) and my inlet goes in on the top hole and exits from the bottom

Awesome, thanks. Now to figure out which is the sender and return hose on my truck. I keep reading conflicting information so I'm going to have to figure it out myself.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
If you are in a colder state or Canada, this will help keep you from overcooling the fluid. That said, it really wont make that much of a difference either way.

You are adding ADDITIONAL cooling to further cool your oil. Why would you want to remove the primary cooling from the equation and just use the one?

Turn your engine on for a minute or two and shift through some gears. Turn it off. Put your hand on both hoses going to your radiator. The warmer one is the inlet. The colder one then goes to the Hayden, then that goes to where the colder one used to go. That follows your #1 diagram and you should be good to go.

That's how I did mine on my car since it made getting the hoses to it simpler and also to feed the hot shit in top and let the cool shit come out the bottom so not to fight the heat rises thing.
