Oh just about what leds were used and how they were mounted. Which checking out that thread I see now! Thanks! Definitely a future mod I'll add to the list. I've always wanted to do something in the mirrors.

Well damn, ive only had the housing for 2 months or so lol. Ive still got a while till ill be able to do the retro so let us know how it goes with the other housings, i might have to sacrifice the leds along the bottom for longevity.

Ha yeah it'll be a while. I've been putting it off for about a year or two now. Surprised the lights are still working. Ha. Idk when I'll get to it. Still gotta order more parts.

But if you get a hair up your ass and decide to do it with these housings, I would suggest using a heat gun to split them. I put them in the oven and had to put them back in a couple times more as the adhesive they used is super tough, and hardens back up quickly after pulling out of oven. I think that may have played a part in weakening the internals on mine. I really don't know. Along with vibrations from offroading. And the fact my truck sits under the baking sun here in az doesn't help the lenses. So hopefully heat gun to split, along with treating the lens and trim paint before install, will help.
I'm determined this time to get it right because I think these housings are sick with a retro.

Well shit.. Looks like the anodized coating on the new leds in the filler panels are already starting to fade to a bronze color again. I thought the spar urthane would help. Guess not. Sigh. I wonder if I could get them powder coated. Remove all the internals and have the little housings painted. Maybe thatd work. Idk what else to do.. Maybe the spar will at least keep the glass lenses on. Ha.

Can you tape off the lens and paint one to see? Maybe use some small stickers to cover the lens?

Yeah. I guess I could do that with these new ones. Just paint over the spar. I'll Probly give that a shot before I resort to buying new ones again. Powder coating wouldn't be worth it unless I could do it myself. Which I have the tools and powder, but no oven/electrical ability to wire it in atm. Ha.

Will this work with the stock filler panels?
