My 2015 DCSB does not have heated mirrors.

How difficult would it be to add them? Is it even (easily) possible?

    TIA

If you're willing to do some Jerry rigging, you would just need the mirrors from a junk yard truck that are heated, some wiring, inline fuse and a on/off switch.

Would 3rd gen mirrors/mounts fit right up?
I'll park my 05 next to a 3rd gen next week and tak a look

Search for 4runner mirrors. Theres a thread on here somewhere about swapping early 2nd gen mirror to 4runner mirrors with turn signals before the gen2.5s came out. Some of the 4runner back then had the heated mirror option. Plus they bolt right up. Just need to run the wires.

So the heated mirror install is an easy job if you have a bit of wiring know how. Got my kit from the user on here that was building the kit, unfortunately he has indicated he is now to busy to do it but maybe in the future. His kit was all plug and play, he had a great instruction manual that is still online that you can use to see how he made it. Toyota Sienna mirror glass were used and it is a direct fit, he has pics on the thread of the mirror boxes which show the part numbers.
Now the main part, you can’t just use that switch that Hayden334 shows as this is only an on off switch and if you forget about it has the tendency to keep the mirrors on, shortening the element life. Not saying you can’t but it’s not recommended, buddy uses a timer chip that you do use the power mirror switch but you have to remove a spring inside it to make it a momentary switch. You need to take that mirror off the truck and take it apart to install the wiring and while you are at it go to your local pick and pull and find a set of older Rav 4 mirror signal lights as you will find the mirror was actually built for them. Correct color covers are available from Toyota. Somebody on here tried a set of third gen and he had to modify the door to accept the mirror assembly, lot of gaps that I could see.

I installed SpotterMirrors on my 2014 AC V6 TRD OR about 8 or 10 months ago. I have not installed the heated-mirrors mod -- but I can vouch for the functionality & durability (so far) of the SpotterMirrors product itself. Super handy for reducing blind spots to almost zero, and so far they have been mechanically rock solid, even with a couple hundred cumulative miles of very bumpy dirt-road/forest-road 4WD driving.

They hold their set position well and have not come loose from the mounts.

Do the heated mirrors from them come with the heating element and we just need to wire it up?

I did the oem heated mirror diy mod about a month ago following the link that @mark_tga posted above. Used the spotter mirrors & the Highlander switch. Very happy with the spotter mirrors so far. Relatively easy, but somewhat time consuming, took me a weekend to complete once I got all the parts together.

Did you find a time delay relay to use?

No, just a normal relay. The Highlander switch I used has a timer built in already

I did this a few years back to my 2015 Dblc. Took a day and a half of monkeying around. Used 2013 Ist series 4Runner mirrors and modified my Tacoma mounts. Wiring plugs were changed so the mirrors operated normal from factory switch. Plug is in the door for the turn signal. Wired the puddle lights all the way. Heated mirrors were wired up with a timed relay. Not a beginner project but doable if you are comfortable with wiring and disassembly.
