I have a 22 TRD OFFROAD 4x4 ACCESS CAB and it is prewired for heated seats. The wires run from power/switch connections, under the carpet, and comes out under the seats. You would have to get the center climate control dash(which can be found at a junkyard) and it has the factory switches. Then you would need to purchase the factory heated pads and wiring for them that connect to the wires running to under the seat. Then there is a relay that needs that needs to be put in a box behind the drver side lower dash/kick panel. In all your looking at $1,500 to $2,000 to get factory heated seats and that is doing everything yourself.

I put in aftermarket heated seats but used the factory relay and fuse so it appears more OEM. I ran new wiring to the seats.

The heating pads and switches were about $80, add in some hog ring pliers, wire, and some connectors and the total costs were in the $100 range. The hardest part of the installation is reinstalling the seat covers. I put up some site.

So I'm in a bit of a pickle, I have a 2022 sr that has the blue wire coming into the IE2 junction. My seat heater relay has all the female connectors and the fuse block came with a 20a fuse installed in the seat heater fuse location. HOWEVER I can't seem to get power to pin 5 or 4 of IE2. Checking around the connector I seem to be getting 7V between pins 11 and 2

I'm going to check continuity between the fuse and and the coil on the seat heater relay but it just doesn't make sense to me that this wouldn't be wired when everything else is, not to mention the guy with the 21 sr having the circuit fully wired in the tacoma3g thread. Any thoughts on what might be wrong here or what else to check?

Why or where are you getting info on the fused power locations you are "checking"?
Fused power is available as soon as vehicle is ON.
The selection on turning it ON to the heating elements is done by the switches and their settings position. (Part of A/C Amplifier module)

Got the info from that exact wiring diagram you posted

can you elaborate on the ac amplifier module?

one more thing I'll mention is I manually connected pins 3 and 5 on the seat heater relay and still wasn't able to get power to that sky blue wire out of IE2. Looks like I mistyped my previous post, I wanted to check the continuity between pin 5 on the relay and the fuse (not the coil)

Alright so I just experienced what I can only consider a Christmas Miracle...last night after connecting everything, I wasn't getting power to that wire in IE2. Just now, went downstairs, checked all my connections again, checked the seat heater fuse and it was good, checked continuity between the relay and the fuse, everything was as expected. Thought, what the hell, let me try to manually connect the switch on the relay again (87 to 30 / 3 to 5 on the Toyota diagram). Did that, still wasn't getting power...thinking I was defeated I pulled the seat heater fuse to use it on a add-a-circuit to pull from a different circuit...the fuse was blown (this is the same fuse that I had checked not even 5 minutes prior).

I threw in another 20a fuse in the box and now everything works?? 12v coming out of IE2 SB wire, relay switch closing with ignition, seats getting warm, the whole nine. I have absolutely zero clue how or why this happened but its probably the closest thing to an act of God I've ever experienced. :amen:

    Good to hear Ryan.

I use my heated seats more than I put on the heater. And thank god I don't have Leather seats. Soooooo overrrated and phucking cold in the winter and burn your ass in the summer.

Ive been wondering about if the wiring is there for the factory heated seats for a while now. Im glad to have found this and maybe ill be able to swap in heated seats and the AC control unit from a different truck at some point.

Hell with heated seats. I'd like to have some air flow seats like my friend has on his Dodge Ram.

I'd never heard of them till he was taking me to pick up my new bike back in 2014.

Would love to have a set up like that on my bike too.

they're nice,,, but there is more to it, the seat covers are perforated, duct work running through them and the floors, then you'd have get in to the dash and HVAC system. Not worth it to me.
I'd say that my next truck will have this option,,, but I don't like leather either.

Something I can always wish for.

Never understood the love for leather seats in a car/truck.

My mom has a RAV4 she leaves in Florida the summers. I drive it a lot, and the leather seats suck!

I like my cloth seats with neoprene seat covers.
