Lots of dirt roads to be found in Central and Northern Maine. As far as tursity stuff, thats not really my speed. But of course theres Acadia Park, all the coastal things, I recommend hitting up Dysarts truck stop for some food if you're in the Bangor area just cause its good food

Agree. I don't like all the tourist spots either but sometimes those are a big hit. I'd rather see the secluded areas, but sometimes that's not possible. Zion was one of my favorite scenery parks. However, it SUUUCKKKED being so busy and having to be the "Tourist" for the day. Still worth seeing though.

How does it work for a visitor, like OP, who goes on a charter in regards to a fishing license?
My ct salt water license reciprocates in most NE states, except NH, IIRC.
I got checked by the Wardens in both Me and the Cape without a problem.

No need for an individual license when on a chartered trip.

A ma.fishing license is good for RI and NH. If you go on a charter boat the boat will have a license that covers all on board, no need to by one

As a transplanted Kentuckian, I know you'll have some fun up here in this area. If you plan on coming up through Rhode Island, let me know. Be glad to meet up and take you to some local places around here.
